Just got an advance US copy of this. The first task flashes the names of colours up for you. You have to say the colour of the font the word is saying and not the word it self.

So many times it just wont recognise my bloody thick Northern accent. arrgh!!

Im getting a Brain age of 50 to 80. Bastard ...

So you actually have to yell into the mic for this? Bah. I wanted to improve my Brain Age on the train on the way to work, but I can just see the looks I'll be getting screaming "Red! Yellow! Greennoshitblue!" at my DS. Can you not just select the colour from the touchscreen?

.::: Have you thought of speaking Yank to it?

.::: I read in one of the previews that you can exclude the screaming-games.

That's correct.

You can tell the game to only give you touch screen challenges.

That correct however the first Quick challenge the one most people will show their friends is the speak at your DS from 1 ft away put on a mid-atlantic voice and make sure there are no background noises whatso ever. If you make a mistake and start shouting "its RED, look Fucking REDDDD!" it screws up your next couple of answers as wel, so need the patience of a jedi.

However I really do like this game. Nothing like a kids toy to tell you your a geriatric.

Brits are tricky when it comes to Nintendo and voice recognition - I think the reason they didn't release Pikachu Genkidechu for the N64 in the UK was the huge range of accents which baffled it. Or maybe that was across Europe and the numerous languages. Or a mixture of both.

That said, I have a pretty neutral British accent, and the Japanese copy of Brain Training (1) had no trouble with my voice when it came to distinguishing between aka, ao, ki and kuro.

Anyone know how Odama holds up with regard the voice recognition, because it seems hugely likely that a big part of Nintendo's next generation plans involve voice recognition.

Got this on order from tronix ($19.95 + fedex postage makes it about £19) looks an interesting concept and has been shifting a load in Japan. Its also victim of a wonderful pricing decision from NOE.

US price = $19.95 = £11.50ish

UK price (play, gameplay) = £24.99 =

this is the thing thats restricted to ten minutes play per day isnt it?, does it allow several profiles on it or would i have to buy a seperate copy for every member of the family?

Its got four seperate profiles and I believe it has a option to play any of the mini-games for high scores ala Wario Ware.

Got mine on pre-order from the US aswell mainly because of the stupid pricing its getting over here.

I'm pretty excited about this, although I wouldn't call it much of a game.

I've got no problems with the voice recognition part. It picks up my dutch-english accent perfectly.

I've started with a brain-age of 75 and i'm already down to 46, yay me.

Sudoku is a nice extra as well.

.::: Now why did you do that? The entire thing gets translated in Dutch and you go out and buy the English version? Madness...

Also every English version I've played of it seems to have difficulty with the word 'blue' no matter how I pronounced it.

Probably because you say 'BLOO' instead of 'BLEW'

.::: I've tried every possible pronounciation until I adpoted the colour for use on my own face. It's not just me either, about everyone was having trouble with 'blue'. English peeps as well. Hopefully the problem has been 'removed'.

Won't this be translated into 8 languages for the Euro release? Or do we all have to yell at our DSses in English?

I'm particularly thinking about the Spanish, Frenchies and Jerries.

.::: It's going to be translated into all of them. As said we're even getting a Dutch one. That hasn't happened to a Nintendo-created game since.... Lufia! :D
