Nirnroot Quest

Basically I stashed some stuff in Agarmir's house early on in the game thinking it'd be safe for a while and after some time the house "reset" itself, as in all the food I stole before was back, as were the books in the dresser and stuff like that. Thing is, 2 Nirnroot I stored also went AWOL and now my stats screen says I've found 10 Nirnroot and need to hand the quest in, but really only have 8 and I can't find anymore at all ever. Thoughts/help/opinons?

Just take a walk by a riverbed, you'll find loads.

Keep looking - there are supposed to be 200 plus in the game - look around water or in people's houses.

And they make a nice noise when you're close to them, which is useful.

Ah, good. I thought they might have only put them in till you find enough and then not bother with any more, which is a bit dumb but there you go. I've not noticed the noise, mind.

They're in dungeons as well. Quite a lot of them.

To me they sound like Chinese wind bells.

I've just started this quest and reached the specified Copse but could only find 4-5 dotted around the area. Am I just not looking hard enough or do I need to enter a nearby cave to find all 10?

There aren't 10 in the copse; go look around riverbanks and other bodies of water; the pool in anvil has one, and there's a trio of large lakes running south from the northeast corner of the map you could try.

So, has anyone else actually got the nirnroot potion and thought " wtf? I spent three hours circling a puddle for THIS!!?"

I was a bit dissapointed with the outcome too, especially as..

he only gives you one and expects you to pay for more.

But I quite like the ongoing quest itself as it gives me something to look out for when I'm exploring. I'll stumble across some water and immediately think "Oh, I bet there's some Nirnroot here".

in the pirate ship on the imperial city waterfront

I found it best not to focus soley on that quest otherwise you go mad. I just carried on doing other quests and finding nirnroot whenever I heard the noise they make. There's loads of 'em. I've found at least 60 up to now.

Suppose that fair enough; I was near going mental last night. Not only did I have to find 10, but the quest wrongly reported me having 10, when I in fact had 9, meaning several back and forths from Skingrad. I'll sideline that quest now, methinks.
