I won't bother with the CD's or Tags but I do want to complete the other activities, particularly Chop Shop and Hitman.

Well, this piece of DLC isn't brilliant, although I suppose you can't go far wrong for the 100 points.

The new beard/mustaches/sideburns are pretty good. There's some new jewelery which is OK and the tattoo's aren't bad. Nothing really striking though, although I like my leopard underpants. For comedy purposes the samurai helmet is good, but very silly. I wonder if you can bring it in the only games?

It's a good thing that the DLC stuff is very cheap to buy in-game ($0.80 or $1.00), while you still get the same respect boost as with similar full price articles. No option for platinum jewelry though.

The update hasn't been released yet. I think this thing has been on the shelve for some time though, the update will probably have to be tested and go through certification and that kind of crap. I hope it'll appear shortly.

In the meanwhile, ignoring anything that looks like missions, I've been working on my character again to turn him from a badass punk to a slick pimp.

Myself: 3 golden chains, one with a Poker Chip medaillon, a huge dollar sign and a Saints Row pendant thingie which came with the DLC pack. The new mustache and sideburns are also from the DLC. Oxford shoes (Impressions), Purple Cotton Pants (Impressions), Purple Sports Coat (Impressions), black snake leather vest (Impressions), Leopard underwear (DLC), gold watch, gold bracelet, 2 gold rings, 2 platinum rings, various tattoo's.

Car: Attrazione, sports hood, purple tinted windows, sports spoiler, sports rear fender, spinners on the wheels, nitro, pearly paintjob.

Big pimpin' ^^^^^^^^^

If you can find a Titan security truck make sure you put it in your garage. $5000 falls out the back of it when you blow one up.

I've encountered an annoying bug on the last Vice Kings mission. If you get out the car before the other characters naration ends the final bad guys only appear on the map and not in the actual game making the mission unfinishable. This has happened a couple of times now and when I try from the start I keep killing the Euro trash. So I've given up on the missions for the mo in favour of causing chaos on the streets and modding new cars.

I fired this up tonight, after owning it for 2 weeks but not playing it.

I'm impressed. I've heard a bit about it - some people giving it some stick, but it's pretty cool.

Managed a massive shoot-out with Police where they failed to kill me for ages - until I didn't notice a grenade until it was too late. Ow.

I like the use of Radial menus for the inventory system, makes perfect sense really.

The one thing that has hit me now about GTA games and their ilk is actual police intelligence. While it "Works" you'd expect if you hole up in a house you want them to create a perimeter like they do in real life...or the movies anyway. The intelligently send in cops/SWAT as appropriate. Oh, and set up snipers.

Not seen a game attempt that so far, it would certainly be interesting to get out of.

Well, I'm only 13% through but I'm really enjoying this. As a big fan of GTA the more I play this the more I feel this game is getting a kicking in the most unfair way. For a start, it's much better than GTA in many respects. Also, this whole "But GTA is so much wittier etc" is starting to grate. Yeah, it's funny and witty, but so is Saint's Row in places. It has some great music, the radio show conversations are funny at times, the story has been pretty decent up to now, the voice acting is also above average and it generally is a good game.

There are so many little touches. The sales which are broadcast on the radio and then happen in the actual stores, the hold ups, the robberies, the way you can pistol whip someone if you run out of ammo or you simply want to knock someone down, the way you can customize and keep your car, the way you can read up on what has happened in each story branch... It's just awesome.

It could have been better in other way of course. It would have been nice to have bikes and boats, the city could do with being more interesting, I don't like the way the character walks etc, but it's a damn good game. I'm really looking forward to GTA 4 now, and SAINT'S ROW 2

No boat? Ah I wondered about that...bikes whould have been ace too. Do planes feature?

Has anyone else managed to smash through the windscreen of a car after a particularly heavy collision? I did - genius stuff.

I also love the ragdoll. I jumped infront of a car and it mashed me right up in the air, spinning me round and round, twas pissing meself.

I liked that I found a safe at the back of a gun store by accident, and cracked it open first go. Took the cash, ran out the back of the shop, back in the front, bought a SMG!

Hey - has anyone taken a hostage? I say this because I got up to a stupid amount of stars/cops coming after me, got in a car with a passenger and up popped:

"Y - Hostage"

So you can take hostages when on the run, or was this a mission of sorts?

I also like how you can kick dead bodies. A police woman followed me into my first safehouse, and I popped enough caps in her to take down a small herd of bison.

Then I kicked and kicked and kicked at her corpse until I had it positioned in that little space under the kitchen type work surfaces. Quite grim really.

The hostage stuff is a great way to make some quick bucks. Basically you take any car with more than 1 passenger (more passengers and more expensive cars will yield better results), then you have to drive around for some time (longer time = higher reward) without slowing down enough for the hostages to escape. Once you complete a hostage run you'll earn money and respect and lose your wanted level. If you fuck up however (hostages get away) than your wanted level is kept and you've got a bit of a problem.

The hostage thing happens when you hijack a car that has a passenger in it.

It should show at the top of the screen a time limit to avoid the police and an amount you will get in ransom should you manage to stay away from the cops and also not slow down enough for the hostage to escape.

I think its set at 1 hostage = $300. I hijacked a car the other night that had 3 folk in it and the ransom was $1000.

Some of the comments are pretty funny when you hijack someone.

Ive a question as well, when i take over an area it says my daily income it something like $3000 per day but when i go to my safe house alli can take out is $2000 per day. Where is my extra money going ?

I think the maximum for your crib is $2000, so either you've to take it out more often or you need more cribs which I suppose you get once you complete more of the game.

The maximum amount I made with Hostage was $1000 for 1 passenger and $3000 for 3 passengers. I had to drive around for about 2 minutes in the latter case though, building up 3 stars of wantedness which meant driving past SWAT blockades and all that.

I'm about 82% complete on this though I don't think I can be arsed in getting 100. At first I was someone who was trashing this game as a complete GTA rip-off though when I played it I was suprised by how well the game holds up.

It's all about the little details that makes the game great and I found most of the missions quite entertaining more so than GTA's ones.

Nearly through with this now and have got to say its been a blast.

Question though that some of you may be able to help me put on.

How do you make more money ? what i mean is that when i take over an area the screen flashes up that the money i make daily is something like $4000 but when i go back to my "crib" to take money out of my stash it only gives me $2000.

Where is the rest of the money going ? and how do i get it ?

I think you can take out more money as you get better Cribs.

Do you have to buy the new cribs ?

Nah, you just get a new crib each time you finish one of the Gang Stories.. i.e all Los Canales missions or all Rollerz missions.

Anyone else noticed that some songs play more frequently than others. For example the first time I ever played there was a cool track on Ezzzy so I pretty much permanently had that station playing so I could hear it agai but I didn't hear it again until I'd completed about 60% of the game. Whereas some of the songs I must have heard about 100 times. Why is that? Something to do with some bits of the DVD being preferable for the laser to read? I noticed this with San Andreas as well.

Played this on a friend's 360 yesterday, the insurance fraud mission is great fun and I love the dual analogue controls, but my overall impression was that it's like GTA without the charm and the nice aesthetics.

But with good physics and explosions which provide hilarity at every turn, great gunplay and battles (as opposed to shocking gunplay), a properly customisable game character (as opposed to a buff black guy whose hair you can cut), more than 3 cars on screen, more than 2 types of car onscreen, cops which actually chase other people as well if they do bad things (as opposed to tending only to you) and even ignore you when you're wanted if the other guys are *more* wanted, snipeable helicopter dudes, and stacks of fun stuff to do besides.

But it has way better aesthetics anyway.

If GTA4 omits half of the sheer goodness added to the formula by Saints Row, it's going to wind up second best.
