You can find some pretty good jumps but they aren't as obvious as GTA.

I've found a few but thats not good enough. I want a jump at every bridge, off every carpark etc. I dont wanna search for jumps i just wanna jump with karzy physics at every corner.

The main thing is that you don't get any bonus points when you land a great jump, which makes a lot them pretty pointless (bar that swing bridge, of course!). But if I wanted to jump off ramps all day, I'd just play GTA.

Thats a stupid argument. If its a sandbox game it should have jumps, 'it fixes everything GTA does wrong and even takes some good things out!'

Im aware the whole sandbox genre is evolving (no longer just GTA clones), but fuck me leave the good bits in.

Did I miss something here? It does have jumps, just not as many as GTA.

Jesus wept.

It should have jumps everywhere. Not ones you have to search for and then use once and go 'WEEEEEE jump'.

I wanna come round a corner see a jump and take it - not spend half an hour looking for one and then take it.

Kinda loses the immediate value of just doing them for fun. Jumps arent something I should have to search for like CDs or Tags. They should just be these fun things splattered all over the city.

Not once did I say it didnt have jumps. Just that it has so little that they arent fun and so lose purpose (due to length of time finding them).

Firstly, how was my original comment an argument? If I wanted to drive cars off jumps I would play GTA, because I know Saint's Row doesn't have as many. Are you saying that wasn't a reasonable thing to say?

:)

We all know it loses some of the fun diversions from the GTA series. I think your last post might have more impact in the official Saint's Row forum, I was too bored to finish reading it.

So you knew Saints Row wouldnt have as many jumps as GTA? Well then I didnt know that and now feel ashamed!

Go to bed if your bored, Fuck me im trying to have a discussion, if everyone posted about how much they where bored about someones elses post we would have a forum full of 'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz'.

You're a cunt because you're stirring up shit.

You're not discussing anything, you're taking something I've said to nobody in particular and threw it back at me. If anything, I do agree with what you're saying, but please change you're fucking tune.

:)

Ack stop being a sour faced cunt.

I moaned about the lack of jumps - you moaned at me for moaning about the lack of jumps.

I was discussing about how there should be more jumps until I was accused of being a GTA sympathiser for expecting jumps. Fuck me, change my tune? Nah i'll be as objective as i want before resorting to your level, thanks.

On the subject of jumps (sorry), I was a bit disappointed when I drove a car to the top of a multi storey car park only to find no ramps for me to do a spectacular action movie stunt.

The dreaded invisible walls are another thing I don't like about the game. Hey ho.

Thank fuck some understands what i was saying!!1111one

There is definitely a jump on top of one of the car parks - it is used in one of the Vice King missions.

Fair enough. Not that it matters too much now anyway. I've decided I can't stand the game and will probably trade it in soon. I just don't possess the will to carry on with such a humourless, graphically poor game. Vehicle handling and gunplay isn't too bad but the game is not the sum of its parts. The whole thing feels lazy and cynical.

Finally managed to get into this yesterday after only playing it a bit since getting it the week before.

My main reason for buying was this thread. I make no bones about it im a GTA whore and i though that this was just going to be another shit rip off.

Thanks to this thread though i was converted and have been really surprised at just how enjoyable this game is. It doesnt have the humour of GTA and at time it seems to be trying too hard to be "cool" but it has fun gamplay in spades, and thats what its all about really.

Enjoyable missions and for me decent car handling. Improved combat over GTA, hopefully Rockstar are taking notice. Worse radio stations though and none of the music has grabbed me yet either.

Question though folks, whats it like online ? i had a quick go yesterday but it seemed to be taking ages to join any games. I eventually got onto some sort of team deathmatch thing were i was humped quite badly.

What online part can you recommend ?

pimp my ride works very well online. have to collect gold chains to make money to take your car tothe chop shop and get it upgraded. Tis a good laugh

Well I just did the final Los Carnales mission and it was the first frustrating mission of the game for me. having insta death rocket launcher guys made it pretty frustrating. Still, 10 minutes later and it was all done.

People who say its not funny really must be playing a different game. it has me in tears. Just doing a mayhem missions and all these burning cars and dead bodies are strewn accross the street. I see this little chinese woman cowering behind a bin going "Prease dont see me, Prease dont see me"

Finally took over Stilwater in the early hours of the morning and got the credits. Percentage complete is showing as 64% so still a fair bit to finish off and it looks like I have a few new missions too.

Hardest mission in the game but only frustrating because you have to drive so far to the airport at the beginning.

Yeah, its the only badly thought out mission ive played in terms of making you drive for 2 minutes, watch two cutscenes and then get hit by a rocket launcher. It felt like I was playing GTA again.

That Rollerz mission where you are pretending to chase and try and kill that girl really shows off the awesome chase A.I. Did it 3 times and she went 3 different routes, taking all the jumps and weaving through trees and stuff. made for a brilliant chase.

I had a great moment last night. It is in the final Rollerz mission where you have to shoot the cars off the back of the Transporter and then eventually destroy the Cab itself. I had just managed to set the cab on fire when another Rollerz vehicle knocked me off the bridge. Just before I hit the water, I saw the Cab blow-up - job done.

It's the radio stations more than anything. On a funniness scale where 1 = unfunny and 10 = hilarious, GTA would probably get a 9 and Saints Row would get a 2. It all feels terribly forced.

while i agree they are nothing on the brilliance of the GTA radio stations, they really aint that bad. I love the "friendly fire, cos its fucking CRAZY out there!" ad, and I like the Itaian dude with the 25% off clothing. But aside from that, the radio stations really dont bother me too much either way. It doesnt affect the gameplay in the slightest.

And the game had Fall of troy on the soundtrack. Cant go wrong there

I just whack on a few Howard Stern radio shows, and more recently I've been listening to the Adam & Joe podcasts on the custom soundtrack :P

Shame you can't use custom soundtracks as a radio station though, they keep playing when you leave a car and there's no option to change that.
