I already have Sky so technically am all set up to watch from next year, but this is disasterously shite news.

Sky do go for long chunks without adverts, but you can just tell they'll have someone shit like Matthew Lorenzo hosting. Plus, for any F1 fan that hates football, Sky Sports is a shit deal anyway.

Bunch of cocks, the lot of them.

Yep that's what I'll do, I don't download films or anything & I think the only stream thing I've watched illegally is the Le Mans 24 hour, had no other way to watch it, but I'm not paying if there are adverts.

No way I'm paying for sky. Live stream or not bothering. Hopefully Brundle will still commentate on those races not live for aussie market etc and get a stream of that. Loads and loads of ads though on aussie TV. Fuck F1, Bernie etc

I can't believe this shit. Who can we complain to about this? I'm going to go and jump Bernie and give the midget cunt another black eye.

There is no way on earth I'll pay Sky for this. Well done for losing a F1 viewer.

The sad thing is I guess the only people really worth complaining to are the sponsors, tell Santander that they're not getting the exposure in the UK that they where before.

What a fucking crock of shit. It's small consolation that Crofty and Ant will still be covering every race on Radio 5.

What are the chances of finding a live stream of every race?

I have to stream all mine here in Japan, and though the quality is not great, I don't mind.

I am devastated by this news though. Really gutted. I won't be buying sky when i return to the UK and nor will I be paying a licence fee. Fuck them in the mouthes. Twats.

Oh & if you want it in HD it's an extra £10 a month so £30 a month for what we get now for free & you get the added bonus of giving that lovely murdoch family we've all been hearing about lately MORE MONEY!!!! YAY!!!! :seanr.jpeg:

I'm not paying. Not ever. There's a sky dish on the side of my house but no box, and I'm not having it. I don't have a broadband conection capable of streaming so unless I go down the sky route I'm fucked.

However, I'm absolutely convinced that I will now continue racing myself which had been in doubt very recently. How can the beeb drop this when they've had great ratings, and a great crew producing this from start to finish? Is there a way of not paying your licence? they're quick to comission a whole host of strictly on ice ballroom the rivals wipeup roadshow type shit, yet ten races 'hell we're doing you a favour' is as good as it gets? What happens when the title decider is the pneultimate race in outer mongolia? oh sorry it's just the first and last plus the european legs. Fuck em, fuck bernie, fuck fota and fuck sky the greedy cunts.

Apparently the teams didn't know so maybe there's a slight glimmer of hope but I'm not believing in it. Along similar lines think it's around average 6m viewers on the BBC and Sky have just announced they've hit 10m subscribers so do they really expect this to increase exposure, I don't see how it's good for the sponsors who are the people that bring the real money into F1 not the TV deals.

MBrundleF1 Martin Brundle

BBC/Sky/F1 2012+. Found out last night, no idea how it will work yet I'm out of contract, will calmly work through options Not impressed

Brundle's twitter, so likely no more Brundle then.

You get a bit more than F1 for your 30 quid.

F1 rights cost an awful lot when you look at what the BBC pays for sports rights as a whole. Put simply, they can't afford it any more.

To be fair to the bbc they just can't afford the fee Bernie was asking. its in the hundreds if millions. This is all about Bernie and the bottom line.

*Bernie counting this money.jpg*

Didn't they have an existing contract in place that they have decided to give up early as this deal starts next year? I thought the BBC had exclusive rights for 2012 they have given up. And not affording it? Have a good look through the BBC expenditure and tell me they can't afford it.

It's not 1 subscriber = 1 potential viewer.

Hope Brundle joins Sky tho.

The cost of F1 is the same as the total cost of all sport across all British terrestrial channels. BBC, itv channels 4 and 5 the lot. It's an eye watering amount of money.

I'm guessing giving the rights up early to Sky is what's allowing then to still show a chunk of the races. I wouldn't be surprised if Bernie when faced with the £££ signs from Murdoch told BBC execs it's that or nothing.
