Lol, I don't pay too much attention to my rep score or when I get negged, but I'm curious about what I got negged for in that comment. :sherlock:

here's the link http://www.planetf1.com/driver/3373/7016890/Lewis-Could-be-worse-could-be-at-HRT

He really needs a crash course on how to handle the press. Or alternatively, just be an automaton and talk about the race ahead, and only that. Can't be worse than what's he been doing lately with the interviews

Precisely what's wrong with that? He's admitting that the Mclaren isn't as good as the Red Bull but it has a fighting chance whereas it could be worse if he was in the HRT as he couldn't race at all then.

Zero controversy in my eyes.

As part of the interview, it makes complete sense. But you know the press. They will rip out a one liner, like the 'because I'm black' comment (without referring to the Ali G bit) and exploit it for all its worth. Then people outside F1 will look at it, see Lewis in a bad light and gradually his popular support will erode. He has to be very careful with exactly what he says.

From official Facebook site

Virgin Racing and McLaren have agreed a technical partnership with immediate effect aimed at helping the fledging Virgin team move up the grid. Virgin will have access to McLaren's facilities including their driver simulator, test rigs and wind tunnel. The deal will mean members of McLaren's team are embedded within Virgin Racing.

A V-Bomber flew over me when I was out on the bike a while ago around Warwickshire. Proper imposing thing hanging in the air. Wasn't as loud as it looked like it should be.

I think when they're flying between displays they go pretty slowly to save fuel and engine wear. the thing's pretty loud when they open up the taps for a display.

I think he has a bad habbit of saying exactly the wrong thing nearly all the time at the moment. His enginerrs will be seeing all this shit touted around in the press and thinking much as I would 'what the fuck am I working hard for this chump for?'

I said similar things last year when he needed to stfu and let his ability do the talking, which of course he didn't. He's making himself an easy target for the press, lets ask lewis a stupid question to rile him up, should sell papers by the shitload.

someone on twitter made a very interesting point about the Mclaren/Virgin Racing deal.

It means additional testing cars for the V6 in 2014. So could give them a bit of a leg up, they'll also be getting date from Force India as well.

edit: also a good way to get Pat Symond's back in the fold without directly hiring him at Mclaren.

They could stick that fat whinging brummie in there and it'd still win.

I could be wrong but I 'm under the impression it was simply a question of point it down the track and steer the bugger, the rest of it would largely take care of itself.

you should concentrate on your own game instead of belittling others?

That Williams was magic, although I prefer the 1985 and 1986 cars due to the amazing horsepower those things had. Racing in general probably hit its peak of excess in those two years what with the Group C sports prototypes and the Group B rally cars.

I read an interview with Gerhard Berger once where he said that in the 1986 Benetton he had to get on the throttle entering a corner so that when he exited it a few seconds later the car would take off, such was the throttle lag. Think the thing was kicking out 1,500BHP at Austria that year

But Lewis is right. Anyone driving a HRT is in a different race ... the GP2 race that happens 2 hours after the F1 race, those HRTs need a hell of a head start.

I take it he means, there are far worses car to be in, ultimatly if you're not in a Redbull you don't stand much of a chance to win.

and maybe he could do with some time in an uncompetitive car.

I don't recall senna saying 'it could be worse I could be in a pacific' in 1993.

I love Hamilton the racing driver, I hate Hamilton and his bumbling pr machine.

No Senna flounced off to Williams instead. After slagging off all and sundrey about electronic this and active that.

He spent the first half of 2009 in a woefully uncompetitive car.

and yet still he seems to lack a little humility. Interesting.

it's gotta be the PR management or something, cos I don't remember him being such a fucking dick all the time.
