Missed what hamilton did just then :(

They showed a replay of the McLaren garage going nuts when Button took the lead, and there were big smiles and claps from Hamilton. He was the only one in the garage who didnt jump out of his seat, but you could tell by his face he was genuinely happy for Button.

Last season it was because Button's and Schumcacher's driving styles are at the opposites ends of the spectrum. So Schumacher was going into a car that was built around Jenson's preferences. This season ... I think it's just a case of them lacking the aerodynamic grip.

As for what they're talking about now, let's hope they just decide it's a racing incident.

Hold on... 2009 is when Jenson won it with Brawn GP and 2010 was when Schumacher replaced him (when the same team was renamed Mercedes)? They never drove together?

But I just realised that Schumacher couldn't have activated KERS cos he wasn't within a second of the person in front of him (Vettel then Button) so he was unlucky today really?

They should have used Rihanna's Umbrella for the closing track!

And you know what's annoying about it? Despite this race being absolutely magic, if you think about it logically, despite Vettel being the 'loser', he actually had the most to take from this race... his lead got bigger as 2nd place Lewis scored no points, letting Jenson pass him... the gap has gone from 58 to 60. It's like the Finger cannot lose :blah:

You can't use that to take away Buttons WDC though, thats like taking Vettels away because of his Red Bull or Mansells because of the active suspension, ridiculous.

I wasn't suggesting that at all, but it's a big factor in the difference in form between Brawn & Mercedes, that year they had "the magic bullet" which was then banned for the next year.

Yeah I just saw your edit :)

Also, the Saubers performance today, shame to see Koby drop back so quickly, but they don't run the throttle system everyone else has do they? They should find things easier after Silverstone. Fuck knows, they could do with some luck this season!

What's up with his car? Isn't it an evolution of the car that won Jenson Button his world championship? Why can't it challenge properly?

F1 changes so quickly, the top cars evolve every race.

The Brawn stole an early lead because they took great advantage the double-diffuser loophole before the season started, giving them a huge jump on the other top teams. They'd also had all the investment from Honda in the preceding year. By the end of that season the Brawn was no longer the quickest, they hadn't had the investment power of McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari - but they'd bagged so many points by then they just had to stay around the top 5. They concentrated on winning that season with what they had left whilst the other teams pumped time and money into next years' cars.

Edit: I'm a bit slow :)

You can use KERS at anytime(almost) its DRS that's active if you are within a second of the car in front going through the specified zone.

The job of a team is to find something that isnt illegal and nobody has though. It's one of the cornerstones of F1, make the best car possible and spend shitloads of money doing it. If everybody had the same car F1 would be nowhere near as popular as it is.
