The Formula 1 Thread

I found a copy of Beverley Turner's "The Pits" in a charity shop the other day, I'm assuming this is that "controversial" book that came out a few years ago?

Anyway, started to read it and have gotten as far as the beginning of the Brazil chapter and already it sounds like she's got a chip on her shoulder. At first she seems to present Webber as nice, friendly and very family orientated, but by the end of the Australian GP weekend there seems to be an underlying accusation of sexism and moodiness on his part.

Good video, agree a Scarbs pod cast would be great just so long it's not peter Windsor doing it, likely end up being sent out to all subscribers on a cassette tape each week. I love the picture behind as well, 1959 Le Mans start which ties in nicely to this weekend, anyone know if any site will be doing a proper stream or is it off to dodgy sites?

A £3 or so sub to Eurosport player for the month would sort you out.

Got some more for ya! I was considering starting an Endurance thread and at least hoped to add them sooner but here goes...

http://tv.audi.com/#/01

Audi use car cams and if I'm putting the voice I've heard to the right guy, are adding the Radio Le Mans commentary this year. I think one J. Herbert was doing mic duties when I had a look to check the link again a little while ago.

That's Peugeot's front page which goes to:

http://www.dailymotion.com/sas/peugeot-24h-du-mans

Peugeot even let you choose a camera viewpoint! Yikes, and after last year's move skyward to a 2-meg connection just ahead of Le Mans (woohoo!), I still haven't got used to being able to watch events like these via live streaming at all! Internet, eh?!

It's a most comprehensive page too, improving on last year. There's a live ticker and a monitor of the top few cars, with total time, the time between cars, lap times (best and last lap) and car status (e.g. running [on track], in the pits, exiting the pits). Commentary alternates between French and English. If I remember correctly, though it wasn't on a DailyMotion page, the stream ran well last year and had plenty of coverage away from on-board cams, including a TV-style studio presenter, interviews with team members and drivers through the night (or just plain following them around all over the place - and I do mean all over!).

Finally for now, here's a Corvette pit crew Web cam, if you want something a little different:

It's not loading for me at this moment - and it's been fine all week! I'll leave it anyway.

Thank you for your link too, Blu. I'll be watching! :)

Just two weeks to go until the Nürburgring 24...:D
