If they hadn't changed the last 2 corners to crap slow chicanes in 2007 from the old high speed corners would the cars be closer on the main straight and thus find it easier to pass with DRS? What's the logic in the slow corners - only safety? The high speed corners didn't do much for passing before 2007 but then there was no DRS.
