Just watched quali on red button as I was out.

So..

Yay Vettel isn't on pole!

Boo It's still a sodding Red Bull.

Hamilton looked like a court jester or something in those overalls.

Not much else to say. Alonso seemed over the moon with 4th. I suppose it's better than 5th, 5th, 5th and 5th ;)

How long before the FIA say give the Q3 runners an extra set of softs to go and entertain the paying punters in the stands? If the rest of the season is like this there isn't much point in watching past Q1, as the only interesting bit will be "whole didn't make it to Q2 this race".

Dull/10

The highlights on the BBC are much more entertaining than actually watching quali. Interesting to see teams not really trying now in Q3 though.

What will people be eating during the race then? I'm having an exciting pasta dish with pancetta. Wish someone would make me a roast though.

Oh well, at least it gives us the chance to see if Vettel can pass anything, even if it is a grumpy austrailian.

Done by the first corner I bet :(

I'm hoping they trip over each other and let Lewis and fernando through and a random Renault in between.

This was my breakfast

I realised I'd bought too much food as I'm away for work leaving in a bit, so I ate it all for breakfast. Think I'm going to have to listen to the race on the radio in the car :(

that's not breakfast!

Most likely to be a boring race, but we said that last time didn't we? Even if vettel and webber run off it'll be entertaining further down the field. And of course Webber really really really wants to be Vettel, and there is every chance he'll do something stupid.

Well, I'm sure that even this shithole might provide some entertainment, just not at the front of the grid. Alonso is close enough to the Hamster to provide some fireworks.

EJ, SHUT THE FUCK UP ALLREADY.

Oh, and as Jense has mentioned allready, the finger is all abit too much like:

I'm thinking, with the 2 second slower laptime for the hard tyres, would it be a good idea to change back to soft the lap after putting the hard ones on? Essentially getting the hard tyre stint out of the way with a double pit stop?

If you're losing 2 seconds per lap on the hard, then you're looking at losing a pitstop in ten laps (20 seconds).

Oh and this wouldn't be a racing weekend without multiple posts bemoaning the poor coverage of F1 in Canada.

So due to the lack of build up show here, we just get the BBC coverage of the race itself, compete with ad breaks, which cuts off pretty much just after the race is over, often midsentance of some interview or press conference, returning to the nations drug, Ice Hockey.

To entertain myself before the race, I put GP2 on Speed TV, which I was surprised to see on. It was just a short highlights show of the race, which looked pretty exciting. Two crazy crashes. Anyway, midshow the feed is interrupted with a big full screen banner saying "Formula One is not available in Canada, please select another Channel". I'm not even watching F1, I'm watching GP2.

It's no wonder that the sport is almost unheard of here and in the US. The coverage is woeful.

FUUUUUUUUU

We're not even getting the BBC feed here in Canada now. They've switched to Speed TV's coverage, complete with screen covering graphics and annoying American commentators throwing in shitty American quips like 'End Zone'.

You cock Webber. 200m and you've blown it already.

As much as I'm not going to defend Speed, 2 of their 3 commentators are British.
