The hydraulics guys get blamed for pretty much everything. How many times it's been used to cover up engine issues.

My mate who worked for Red Bull said it was infuriating how F1 mechanics want to use hydraulics for everything. Apparently they're obsessed with it - using it where a much simpler cable/electronic system would seem to be the better bet!

He was working on the ECU stuff so probably biased towards electronic.

Should be a great race. Yeah, Vettel should get pole to victory but it's the midfield that interests me. Fast drivers qualified too low, slow(ish) drivers qualified too high and Kobayashi stuck in the middle. Button vs Hamilton, Massa vs Alonso too

Guys, I have a question, if you watch Vettel's pole lap and listen to his gear changes in the first corner, to me it sounds like he's changing down six times from seventh gear, which would put him in first gear. The graphic shows second gear, and as you see him sweep into turn three, you can see that he definitely does finish the corner in second gear. Can someone explain that to me? Because to me it sounds like the car's got eight gears.

Don't jinx the boy!!

Took me a few goes, but the first "gear change" is just him taking his foot off the accelerator. The change in tone isn't quite the same as when he actually changes gears.
