Yeah that ad would have been awesome with Vettel, what with the whole German rivalry thing and RB being the main guys to beat. Mika just doesn't make sense. Maybe he's still under contract with Mercedes, some ambassador or whatever.

I'm not planning to get up, but my internal clock did a fine job with the practice sessions this morning; I woke up at some ungodly in the middle of the night and fired up the app on my iPhone to see there was ten seconds left in session one, checked the results, then fell straight back asleep. A few hours later I suddenly jolted awake again, just in time to switch on the TV and see the first car pulling out of the pits. There may well be a repeat result tonight/tomorrow!

WHOOOOOP

As luck would have it, I've checked in to a motel. It has Speed TV and Wi-Fi (Speed also stream). So I'm set for qualifying, which starts at a comfortable 11pm here in Arizona.

The plan is to leave here tomorrow morning though to head on up to Monument Valley (Home of the first Motorstorm game, though that's not why I'm going). I'm starting to um and arr about whether I should just pony up another $57 dollars and stay for an extra night to watch the race. It's really money that I can't afford. But this is F1.

Hnnnnggghhh.

p.s. I'm seriously starting to doubt my decision to remove McLaren from my Fantasy team now... Do I change or not.

Watchin the practise now on the Speed stream, hope the rest of the coverage/commentary isn't as bad as NickRE says as my only option...

Watch the speed stream (That's what I'm doing) and listen to BBC 5 Live for the commentary. It's almost like watching it in the UK.

I couldn't get the 5 live commentary working from the BBC website, so I used a link via here> http://radiotime.com/affiliate/a_33829/station/BBC_Radio_Stations.aspx

I've had virtually no contact with the world of F1 since the last race of last season, so I'm looking forward to finding out all the new changes. All I know from watching so far is the return of KERS (yay!) and new tyres, which sounds interesting.

I seem to remember during last season that they planned to drop refuelling as well, did that go ahead? Are there any other major changes?

While MacLaren are looking in fairly good shape, certainly in comparison to the pre-season testing, Redbull are looking hot.

HRT on the other hand, it's looking bad after p3. The teams have stated that they could vote for anyone below the 107% rule back in the race, but HRT are looking so far off the pace that I think for safety reasons they should step out of this weeks race.
