If only they could ditch Leg-end; he's fucking useless. They should have Brundle as the main commentator and someone else as the co, maybe have different ones for different races.

He's a fucking bellend, "OH WHATS HAPPENED! HAMILTON HAMILTON HAMILTON HES SO AMAZING! I'M YOU'RE BIGGEST FAN LEWIS!!!! LEEEEEWWWWWIIISSSSS I LOVE YOU!!!!!"

I missed the end earlier, so listened to 5 Live, which made it sound AMAZIN'!

Watching the end now, Legard / Brundle are nowhere near as exciting to listen to, so 5 Live for the win!

Really pleased for Button, good job man - prove everyone wrong. When is Schumi gonna get into the groove?

For the past two races I've switched commentary to Radio 5 commentary on the "red button"- usually within 15 minutes of the race starting due to being infuriated at how shit Legard is. I'm sure the last straw was when some of the drivers came in to change to intermediates, and he was talking some utter bollocks that had nothing to do with what was actually happening.

He was way too manic last year, now it sounds like he's been on Prozac but the same thing keeps on coming through- he knows fuck all about what's happening and without Brundle, he would be really lost. Anyway, I'll probably stick to Radio 5 commentary from now on.

That's the same time I went on the hunt for the radio. He doesn't discuss anything, he only states the blindingly obvious which you can see on the TV with your own eyes. The radio commentary is more interesting to listen to because they actually talk about things, they don't just keep reeling off the running order or saying 'on a charge'. 5 Live's commentary is much more exciting too, they really go for it, and make it sound fantastic, which it should when cars are racing within metres of each other at 200 miles per hour.

Quite.

When will we ever get another Murray?

Kravitz was getting on my tits a bit today claiming there was a chance Lewis would be docked 25 seconds. Brundle gave up correcting him in the end.

I reckon you probably could fill most of that in a race. He speaks in cliches, which shows how little he's aware about what's going on.

It's worse if you have the live timings up, as soon as you see a flicker of purple you know Legard is about to open his mouth.

I'm not understanding the Red Bull hate.

No history in the sport? It was Stewart Racing which became Jaguar Racing which became Red Bull. So that's 14 years in the sport. The drivers? Vettel is good, but Webber is excellent - still got a bit of daring (witness his qualifying in Malaysia) but can drive at pace consistently. The team image? Arrogance is part of confidence. The car? They worked damned hard during last year, taking a good car and making it better race on race.

But that was a classic race, thanks to the rain. Loving the fact that Schumacher got passed so many times while Rosberg was doing his thing. Another great drive from Kubica too, the Renault does not have the top pace but is consistent in different conditions.

Part of me wants a hot, dry race (as usual) in Barcelona, part of me wants more rain.

Oh, and more Ferrari LOLs with that pit lane moment.

Basically webber bumped into the threads hero, The Beloved Ham, and since then the Red Bull name has been mud on here.

I'm really annoyed the BBC don't have the alt commentary on freeview any more.

does anybody know, is this on purpose, or has it just not been working properly?

you get the option when using the onboard view, but not watching the normal race, its very annoying. :quote:

I'm a Hamilton fanboy and I don't have the Red Bull hate. I'm quite a Red Bull fan.

I think it's a mix of Red Bull being quicker than everyone else, and Vettel changing from a pleasingly modest young star to a slightly petulant, cocky driver, holding his "number 1" finger up in front of the camera at every opportunity.

fucking LOL at Webber being better than Vettel...

My current red bull hate dislike come from Vettel's stupid number 1 finger and Christian Horner coming across as a very cocky bastard. There is no bought they are an awesome team and Vettel is a stunning driver.

anywho... after race 4 on the fantasy league...

But I like Button and have loved many English Drivers from the past. Mansell, Herbert etc.

It was his whole "I'm fucking off from the UK, there's too much pressure from the press, oh, I just happen to be moving into a tax haven" thing.

I can't deny he had a stunning drive today but I still think he's an arrogant prick who seems to blame everyone/everything else except himself sometimes.

Button won the WDC last year when he didn't have the fastest cars for most races.

Red Bull did. But Webber is just a fairly average journeyman at best, whilst Vettel is distinctly limited. They are both very fast over one lap but go backwards during races.

Red Bull have the fastest car again this season and once again their drivers are failing at converting this into points.

Contrast this with McLaren whose drivers are outperforming in the third or fourth fastest car. Button and Hamilton are outdriving the car, especially Button who is just outstanding in mixed wet/dry conditions and when the tyre wear is a factor. Today he had substantial leads destroyed twice by safety safety cars, otherwise he would have lapped nearly the whole field!

The Williams and the Sauber are now both awful, falling back amongst the new teams. They need big fixes for Barcelona.

One of the top driver pairings is at Renault. Kubica is one of the very best and he doesn't make mistakes, so collects points relentlessly. I can see why the dancing donkeys want to hire him. Petrov is the best rookie since Hamilton, he was excellent in GP2, is a real racer and has taken to F1 like a duck to water. Pre season most commentators had Renault behind Sauber and Williams. Four races later and welcome to the real world

Except Button has lived in Monaco to do the exact same thing (and the tax breaks obv) well before Lewis entered F1. Just because he says the truth instead of letting everyone assume the obvious does not make him a prick.

But yes, that was an absolutely amazing GP, was expecting another borefest since it's one of those Tilke tracks, but nope, rain + safety cars + hamilton = RARGHHH. Glad the stewards did nothing about the racing incidents.

And the Malaysian GP, coupled with fucking Kobayashi not finishing AGAIN, has really screwed with my team position :quote:

It still doesn't stop him being an arrogant little cock who I'd love to dry-slap. The hatred has subsided a bit now his bloody annoying Dad isn't hanging about like a bad smell.

I like Hamilton because he entertains me in every race. He's the most aggressive driver on the track and also the best at overtaking.

Since Hamilton's first ever F1 race I would bet money that Button has overtaken more cars on track.

Button is the consummate overtaker. His craft is at such a high level that he does it just as smoothly as the rest of his driving.

Hamilton is far more spectacular, but the aim in F1 is to score points.

Really? I've found him to be more of a twat now his dad has gone - his outburst last time could've been prevented by dad's wise words.

If he had just said he was moving to Switzerland because of the tax issue that would be fine. I seem to remember he went on parkinson and basically stated he was sick of the UK, press intrusion and wanted away because of that. Oh, to a tax haven.
