A critical failure of a single part (when then paved the way for a number of other parts given the excessive loads). What makes it all the more worrying is that it was a brand new part. Fuck knows how it got through testing.

3rd row for the McLarens. Fuel advantage? They looked all dominant up till P3, perhaps the competition have gone a touch light to hold them up?

Just remembered that they are all fuelled to the end so maybe it's down to the tyre. An early stop to get onto the prime tomorrow?

Hopefully the McLarens back in 5th and 6th will spice things up, I can't see the Red Bulls being able to keep that pace - even Christian Horner admitted he felt they were off the pace until the last few mins of qualifying. Add a bit of rain to the mix and it could be worth getting up at 7am tomorrow!

Poor show by Schumacher, maybe he'll be able to pull his finger out during the race....

I bet EJ is seething at home as DC's opinion goes unchallenged for a whole weekend! :P

He couldn't even get a decent phone line to call in! Poor EJ!!

oh fuck off with your gay ass finger Vettel
Vettel is starting to really piss me off with his finger waving. Someone needs to have a word, something along the lines of, "mate, you look like a retarded twat when you do that."

couldn't agree more...

Set up for an interesting race.

If you look at the historic stats you will see that Webber, Rosberg and Vettel tend to go backwards during races. They tend to finish lower than they start.

On the other hand Button, Hamilton and Alonso tend to gain places. (During his Honda, rubbish car, years Button several times gained 5 places in a race and very very rarely lost places.)

This effect is reduced at no overtaking circuits like Barcelona and Valencia, and tends to increase in the wet.

So maybe Alonso for the win is a good bet looking at current weather forecasts. (Unless he blows another engine).

If it is dry then the option tyres are looking very marginal indeed, which would favour Button.

Talking of Button, those who predicted Hamilton would destroy him are now looking a bit silly. Button has outqualified Hamilton 3 to 1 and has scored more points than him as well.

Also don't forget the cobbler, if it is a mixed up, changeable weather, race then he still has it in him to surprise the doubters.
