They would be devices that alter the suspension set up during parc ferme conditions which are illegal.

But difficult to find, and who loads the fuel in the cars? not the fia. What's to say that the redbull hasn't got a dumper system that alters when load x is put in the car?

If the FIA have had a look, it ican't be something that easy to spot i guess. There are a whole bunch of easy solutions, but not many cleaverdificult to spot solutions. Redbull appear to have found one of them. The rest of the pit needs a whistle blower on this one i suspect

Well, presumably the system can't be based off the load or weight through the suspension as that would also change with downforce from the wings as the car accelerates and cause all sorts of issues.

It must be triggered specifically by the MASS of the entire car or probably just the fuel cell changing, or maybe by some mechanical device that is moved when the tank is filled up, a bit like the float in a toilet cistern (except not like that because the fuel cell is made of foam). If the dampers or whatever are pressurised by gas, and that gas runs in pipes under the fuel cell that get compressed as the fuel goes in... would that do the trick?

I sense impending scandal. You get the hack's writing any old shit off the whiff of a rumor. When Whitmarsh starts talking about it (like it's a given) I sit up & take notice. He won't have just blindly mentioned it by chance. The boffins at Woking will have analysed the RB's on track characteristics to the hilt. In fact I expect all the top teams to have little groups doing not much more than working out exactly what RB are doing. To protest or copy.

Could they use fuel itself as a way of stiffening the suspension when the tank is full?

A liquid that increases in density under load or becomes more solid like? does such a thing exist without the application of an electrical charge?

You could almost have two seperate suspension systems being fed from two different reservoirs. One for qualifying and one for race.

I was thinking along the lines of when the tank is full, fuel would be at a certain level, which allows it into some kind of compression system or piston in the suspension, which hardens it, keeping the car off the ground. As fuel burns off, the level goes down, meaning fuel is drained from the suspension since there is no back pressure or whatever from the petrol tank keeping it there. The car is gradually lowered on a softening suspension as the fuel is burned in this way.

So is something like that even possible? If it is, then I want to patent it right now ;)

I think Symonds got nailed and tried to tak ethe wrap. Flav "probably" didn't know what was going on. Piquet was a fuckwit and "probably" dremp the whole thing up to get people to like him more.

Alonso almost certainly knew what what was going on and probely planned it all !

If the date hasn't passed it's a non-refundable 1000 Euro deposit to apply for F1 next year. If we can string them along USF1 style for a while we might be able to con some sponsors into giving us money in time to put an actual team together.

Meanwhile, in sodding Alabama, Indy Cars are racing around in this relatively new and pretty nice track:

Bring back the USA GP!

I watched some of the Indy race on Sunday at this track. There was no overtaking, and this is in a series that's pretty renowned for its overtaking. The best bits of the race were down to teams not having a clue how much fuel they'd put in the cars and having to make additional stops due to their own stupidity.

Here's a punt. Red Bull will be strangely a lot slower in China. By about... 4 tenths?

If that were the case Mclaren would be looking pretty sweet. Ferrari too- pity their fucked on the engine front though. That's pretty much knackered them for the championship. LOL.

I hope not. It's f**king hilarious how the other team try to find out what Red Bull does...

and as mentioned in this thread before: Adrian Newey is a genius :)
