Hamilton is too inconsistent. Button is going to rape him this year..

Based on previous form they're both very consistent compared to their former teammates (kind of the only reasonable way to judge a driver). I don't know what happened today, very odd.

The only thing I can think of is that Hamilton either didn't heat the tyres enough, or wore them out too soon. (Or there was un undiagnosed problem with his car)

It's 6AM GMT I'm afraid (7AM BST)

We switch to BST in the early hours (3AM I think?)

As that's clear as mud, basically you're going to get an hour less sleep than you would otherwise.

It's tricky with setting alarms and stuff! I'm going to set my iPhone alarm to 6:50am as I'm pretty sure it'll switch the clock forward overnight.

Actually I might set my oven timer to go off at 5:55 just in case (it doesn't reset itself)

Now I remember why I chose Button instead of Hammy for my F1 team - he's far more consistent than Hamilton, who while faster on his good days, is rather unpredictable with anything happening on his off days.

I'll be up at 5am again :)

I'm still backing Hamilton for McLaren. Sure Button will drive a good car at 98% for a whole race without error, Hammy will drive between 99 and 101, which is why so often in qualifying we'd see him come out and just do 1 astonishing lap right at the end. Like I say no idea how to explain what happened today.

you know what, F1 drivers earn the bucks driving in the rain. You think it's hard to see whats happeneing as you barrel down the A303 during an english summer show. that's nothing to 180mph on a wet street circuit. BIG BALLS need only apply

Go for the 5live guys. much better.

TRulli out ... hurrah
