You could argue that Mercedes was a continuation of Tyrell but barely. They really only bought the team entry and took a few staff members. Everything else (including factory) was brand new. So Mercedes is really the newest of the old guard teams with Redbull a couple years older than they are.

Yes, unless Stefan turns up as Toyota were 2002.

I'm on the side of Tyrrell - BAR not counting. They didn't develop the car from the tyrrell, they barely hired anyone and all the historical stuff went to Paul Stoddart.

In fact, the Minardi 2 seater cars are actually modified versions of Tyrrell's last design.

The distinctive nose is a dead giveaway, not to mention the sidepods and front suspension.

You can tell the deadline is getting close, it's really starting to get fun now, they're not holding back on USF1. Though after already trying to sue the FIA, this doesn't seem to be the best way of going about getting a grid spot. I would have thought something must happen this week, hopefully the FIA will release something soon after Whiting's visit to USF1 on Wednesday.

Found it impossible to get past the usual woolly Wii controls and the spectacular ugliness. Both typical wii problems of course.

Couldn't find a way to have anything other than digital throttle and brakes either.

I have pretty high hopes for a 360 version in that style though.

It got a lot of praise for the handling, even from Eurogamer. You can definitely play it with nunchuck for analog steering & throttle, also supports the Logitech wheel

tempted to put a fan based bet of £20 on Lewis for the championship, but i know nothing about betting. Any tips?

I think you'd have more fun though putting 20 quid in an account and putting a fiver on the first race. That way you'll get more instant gratification/disappointment and can re-bet winnings on the next race.

Having said that Hamilton has been pushed off the favourite spot by Alonso so the odds are better than they were when I put my money on!

Each to their own, I guess, but I found the handling absolutely superb. It did take a good 60 minutes of playing to get used to it (at first I crashed into every corner). Make sure you have the braking line activated, if you follow that it's pretty straightforward.

True, some of the graphics were absolutely horrendous (esp the cockpit), but I changed the view to bumper and it looks great- apart from 3rd person replays!!!

I'd forgotton Alonso was in a Ferrari, and was wondering how he'd jumped to stop spot with the average times Renault had been displaying in testing!

USF1 are the team that just keep on giving. Apparently they've asked for the entry to be delayed until 2011, unless there's serious changes such as Anderson and Windsor removed I hope the FIA tell them where to go. They also had a second driver signed in December, James Rossiter bringing a decent size sponsorship package with him as well. Strange that nothing was announced, shows what a mess the team is and that in it's current set up it really doesn't deserve a spot on the grid.

But more interestingly, the new GT1 World Championship was launched today. Really looking forward to this I do hope it takes off and grows, be great to have a really strong GT championship again.
