I was going to say I got the impression Fry was lucky to stay around with Brawn, I do remember speculation that he wouldn't be a part of it. Plus he was the one responsible for finding a title sponsor for Honda, but failed two seasons in a row, so likely in part responsible for their withdrawal. So is it really a big loss, but then it's now been denied and he is still there, good job they have some sponsors already at least.

That link makes Mercedes just sounds so fucking corporate and boring, way to go Mercedes! Replacing Nick Fry, whatever you think of him, with shareholders representatives is not a good thing.

Lotus is launched, love the livery, even if the car itself does seem a bit basic. New site as well.

Lotus1.jpg

A bit basic!?!? Lol.. this will be interesting to see how fast it goes. It doesn't look particularly aerodynamic compared with the other cars, does it? If it's really slow, it's going to be a bit annoying with Trulli at the wheel if he manages, somehow, to qualify OK. This could be a recipe for disaster!!!

round 2 to the mclarens then

The rain falls and the Mclaren hits the front. Ferrari drive like there is no tomorrow and the rest mess around in the midfield.

The smart money is calling it a Mclaren-Mercedes-Ferrari Championship year. Redbull are keeping their cards closed to their chest, are they sand bagging, or has Newey produced another knife edge car.

Of the tail end charlies, Virgin hit the track and learn the hard way that CFD is no shortcut to success. The front wing falls off and there are many red faces as the team knocks up a new wing from planks of wood they found out the back of the pits. Lashed on with with gaffer tape, a wing and a prayer, they complete a handful of laps with no other problems .. in last spot.

Lotus have revelaed a car, even getting it to do a few laps round silverstone. It's green and yellow, but cut it in half and it says Malaysia all the way through it. Trulli dear GOD WHY !!!!!!

Campos continue to sit outside Madrid airport with a cloth cap and a dancing monkey "spare a few million for a struggerling F1 team Guv'ner" the sign around the moneys neck says.

USF1 - still no sign of the yanks, late to the party as ever. "we're coming, we're coming" they cry. Will USF1 be the toast of the paddock ?

I love USF1, the winter would have been boring without them. The latest rumours from the German site Motorsport Total has Chad Hurley being fed up with the mess at USF1 and supposedly trying to create some sort of merger between Campos and USF1 with the Dallara chassis. Also rumours that Windsor walked out or gave up on Friday. It's all getting quite crazy, I can see when the full story comes out it should make for some really interesting reading.

From that article, if Stefan GP are admitted (which I hope is the case) Kuzuki Nakajima will be entering the fray again ffs, as a concession to Toyota. Seriously there must be alternative Japanese drivers faster than him? Try any new boy, they did it with Kobayashi and look how well it turned out.

Fauzy in the Lotus is currently 10 seconds off Vettel's pace :) Fingers crossed thats the driver not the car.

@H_Kovalainen: Its been dry for a while but just got hit with massive rain! Things going well Fairuz driving without powersteering but no problems...

might have something to do with it... I take it their powersteering is just faulty today, not that they didn't bother installing any.

Prodrive are apparently 'monitoring the situation'.

2011..?

It's been said by a few guys on here, but why the hell weren't prodrive given one of the free slots? You've got to really think about Bernie's judgement, sometimes- yeah, he's a billionaire and has managed to build up F1 to what it is, but some of these decisions are baffling. Does he really hate Dave Richards that much?

Instead you've got 2 of the 4 teams looking really unlikely to even survive to the 1st GP, never mind getting a car to it. And the other 2 are, frankly, shit from what we've seen so far. It's like getting 2 additional Super Aguris!!! Wooooo!!!
