Apparently if the championship were decided over just the last 6 months or so Hamilton would be champion and Kimi second, can anyone confirm?

I think it is from Hungary that is the statistic that keeps getting talked about. I have heard the same thing numerous times from the BBC commentary guys so it should be true.

I quickly totted up the Hungary onwards points:

Hamilton - 40

Raikkonen - 38

Barrichello - 28

Vettel - 27

Button - 21

Kovalainen - 17

Webber - 16

Rosberg - 14

Alonso - 13

Kubica - 13

Glock - 11

Heidfeld - 9

Trulli - 9

Fisichella - 8

Sutil - 5

Buemi - 2

Edit: Actually Hamilton's still on top if you include Germany as well, which is half the races held so far (tomorrow is number 17):

Hamilton - 40

Raikkonen - 38

Vettel - 35

Barrichello - 31

Webber - 26

Button - 25

Rosberg - 19

Kovalainen - 18

Alonso - 15

Kubica - 13

Glock - 11

Heidfeld - 9

Trulli - 9

Fisichella - 8

Massa - 6

Sutil - 5

Buemi - 2

Go back one more and Vettel takes a 5 point lead, then prior to that we're in heading into Button territory!

But it wasn't.

And it is meaningless.

Button, for instance, was defending a position so was only trying to score enough points, not win every race.

If anything it shows Kimi in a very good light, Ferrari stopped developing that car ages ago. Once Massa was gone Ferrari had no option but to start looking after Kimi and he delivered.

That was a big part of my point (otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned Kimi), I wouldn't have thought he'd be there. But as you say...

it is meaningless.

That Real Time Racing rubbish is being shown on BBC News channel now

Impressive what they've done using real video, but without a single mention of tyre modelling, by far the most important aspect of a driving simulator, I'm not holding my breath!

Also seems odd that their promotional video uses the Logitech wheel I bought 8 years ago for 25 quid!
