You are seriously deluded.

OK, what's Webber done this year? Won one race which admittedly was impressive considering he had a penalty in it. Apart from that, he's been very average considering his machinery. As soon as Hamilton had a sniff of a good car he was right up there. He's won more races than Webber and I wouldn't put it past him to win more. Put it this way. Webber's championship position is now under threat from Raikkonen now that the Ferrari is going much better.

Webber has done NOTHING to impress me in his whole F1 career apart from talk a good talk.

Oops sorry!

I thought you meant that Lewis in a McLaren would slaughter Kimi in a Red Bull. Which obviously would not happen.

Now I realise that you meant that Lewis would slaughter Webber I agree with you fully.

Webber is a nice guy but in F1 terms he is a journeyman.

Lewis would slaughter Kimi in a Redbull.

Kimi would have a few good races, be very fast ... but just not quite deliver all season untill it's too late. .... like he does all the time.

To be brutily honest the only reason he won the championship was becuase Lewis and Alonso took points off each other as they spent more time swinging handbags at eash other in the latter half of the season rather than trying to stop Kimi from winning.

Kimi has never quite deliever on the promise. has he really

No problem :hmm:

Webber is not very good its true, which is a pity because he is one of the most likeable characters in the drivers paddock. Thinking of it, though, most of the drivers are likeable compared to Arrogant Plank and Amoral Cheating Dick.

But he isn't very good. Apart from Germany this year, when has Webber ever delivered ? He's a good qualifyer but never turns a top five quli into a win.

Nice guy and all, be he's a number 2 at best. He can win, but he's never ever going to win a championship is he ... see also Barrichello and Trulli

Being shown up by a rookie who can't overtake and who makes lots of mistakes.

Says it all really.

Are we talking about the same person who is currently third in the WDC?

Or is this another bout of fiction your making up.

In what has been the fastest car all season.

Anyhow my point remains. In the fastest car of the year the rookie who can't overtake and who makes lots of mistakes can only manage third in the WDC. Yet he is still easily beating Webber in the same car.

I wouldn't say easily beating, Webber's had more forced failures and has been pegging Vettel for points until now.

Admittedly Vettel would have had more of a lead if he'd not made mistakes, but on occasions where both cars have been working well all weekend, they've been very close to each other. Webber seems to be one of those drivers that creates bad luck (like Rubens).

Looking at the results.

Webber has either beaten or been one position behind Vettel in all except for:

Bahrain: Blocked by Sutil in qualifying

Spa: Let out in front of Heidfeld and penalised

Suzuka: No end of car problems

Button & Kimi together would be pretty bloody awesome - IF the Brawn is competitive next year.

In that car Button would have to be ultra quick to keep Kimi behind him. But that depends on which version of the iceman turns up, mr whippy of captain quick.

The reason they don't have manual gears is cost.

With manual gears whilst racing it is very easy to change down too early and over rev the engine, and damage it.

Floppy paddle, seamless, gearboxes protect the engine from being over revved like this, they won't change down unless it is safe to.

This is possibly the main reason that F1 cars are so reliable these days.

F1 engines were costing £16 million each (now coming down to £4 million http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...one/7718682.stm ).

It's worth bumping this, engines don't cost anything close to that. A YEARS WORTH of engines does. (Namely 16 engines, delivery, all servicing, the loan of employees to handle them etc)

It's an important distinction.

I was going to argue the toss on it but it's bruce so it's not worth a wank.
