never happen.

Kimi's fast an all, but only when he wants to be. If the car isn't under him, then he's rubbish. Mclaren, more importantly Big Ron, stick by their drivers that deliver. Hakkernon and Coulthard where there for years because Mclaren know that changing drivers every other year doesn't deliver you the green backs. They stuck by Kimi for years and he almost delivered because hw was hungry for the title. Now he's got that, he's not hungry anymore ......... except for a corneto of course.

Mclaren don't want him because they know he's passed his best.

Kimi and Hami are the best out there these days.

Kimi just doesnt give a fuck and drives around like miss daisy looking cool and bringing in the bucks ! Hami is just a class apart and giving it 110% every damn lap - on his way to the accident he was blitzing sector times, gotta love his all or nothing driving !

Kimi was good, but he's show he doesn't have the killer instint. He get's bored and just sort of arses around playing at being a driver.

Alonso on the other hand is the best car developer, throws huge tantrums when he doesn't get his way and is willing to have the team make the other driver crash so he can win (alegidly)

top 5 drivers for me right now are:

1. Alonso becuase he put a back to back championship together against Mickey shoes who is still the benchmark. Can develop cars and build a team around him

2. Hamster, despite Monza and because of Monza. He drives like every lap is a qualifying lap and he doesn't accept it's over until he says so. Has led the team back from the brink this year.

3. Barrichello. He's ancient and has plugged away at being number 2 for years, and here he is, he's developed that car and is hunting down Button.

4. Kimi. Because he could be so great, he's still the fastest man out there.

5. Rosberg, is the best of the new guns. I think he could win a championship in a Mclaren or a Brawn. Has done great work in that Williams. But does need to concentrate a bit more

also rans.

Vettel, i think he may be a bit fragile under pressure. He's fast, but needs to think of the bigger picture.

Massa, i don't think he's going to be as fast as he was. But his fight with Lewis last year was a changed Massa from the Sauber days when we used to bet on which wall he'd hit first.

Button, Has the luck that makes you champion but has been shown to be fragile under pressure. Needs kid gloves and the team behind him

Heidfeld, who has the best finishing record in mordern F1. imagine if he's got the nod at Sauber for the Mclaren seat all those years ago.

Fisi, he was never going to win a championship, but given a fair wind and a bit of luck, proved he could win a race or two

Undescided on

Sutil, i'm not convinced but he's having a good season in the slowest on the grid. He's shown he can mix it with the big boys when the dice fal his way. Does he have the Luck that you need for a championship.

Glock. Has calmly got on with it this year and worked hard with a rubbish car. I'd like to see him in a Brawn or Mclaren, then we'd see what he's got. Toyota will be the death of his carrier

Webber, i think he's just a bit too old and let's the pressure get to him. Can be good on the one lap wonder, but can't string a whole weekend together to take a title.

Utter Rubbish

Nakajima, Toyota gave him the ride and the engines to Williams.

Kubica. Whinges too much, is too tall and only won in Canada because Hamilton took eveyone else out. has never looked like winning another race.

Grosjean, has a lot of hair and smiles too much

Liuzzi. Looked like signing my sons autograph book was the most tedious thing he'd ever been asked to do.

Alguersuari. has a silly name and only got the job becuase Seb bourdais told Torro Rosso the same thing scott speed did, that the car was crap and they were never goingto achieve anything.

Should never be left in charge of a hand cart let alone an F1 car.

Trulli, he makes nice wine apparently.

I think it's still a 'maybe' about Lotus and personally I think it's a travesty that anyone can use the name and have no links to the factory. Glad that Canada's back.

In other F1 news; Witch hunt anyone?

Renault director of engineering Pat Symonds has been offered immunity from punishment by the FIA if he offers full disclosure of the facts surrounding last year's Singapore Grand Prix race-fix allegations.

With less than one week to go before Renault faces the FIA World Motor Sport Council to answer charges that it asked Nelson Piquet to crash deliberately to help Fernando Alonso win, sources have confirmed to AUTOSPORT that Symonds has been given the chance of an amnesty.

The development comes on the back of interviews between Symonds, FIA representatives and members from the Quest agency at the Belgian Grand Prix where it was deemed his evidence was 'central' to finding answers to what happened in Singapore.

In the stewards' report about that interview, a copy of which has been seen by AUTOSPORT, Symonds confirms that the race-day meeting between himself, Briatore and Piquet did take place.

The stewards reports added: "Mr. Symonds accepted that he had discussed with NPJ (Piquet) the possibility of a deliberate crash at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, although he said the suggestion was raised by NPJ."

However, Symonds then refused to answer questions about specific allegations about the events that took place that day (see separate story).

It is understood, however, that the reason to offer Symonds immunity has come from the fact that he indicated at the time that he may have further useful information.

The stewards report stated: "Mr. Symonds suggested at his interview on 27 August that he might wish to revert to the Stewards with further information, including information responsive to the various questions he had declined to answer.

"However, no such further information was provided on 27 August. On 28 August, Mr Symonds was summoned back before the Stewards to be asked if he wanted to give further information on the questions he had declined to answer. Mr Symonds again declined to answer the questions."

It is not clear if Symonds has accepted the immunity from punishment offer, but should he do so it means only Renault boss Flavio Briatore will face the FIA's WMSC without any such deal in place. FIA president Max Mosley confirmed at the Italian Grand Prix that Piquet would be exempt too.

Basically, Symonds and Jnr get immunity and Flav has to take all the punishment. I don't like Flav or the way he works but if it happened and they were all involved they should all be punished IMO.

Interesting.

So BMW are off, we get a malaysian Lotus (with the Chapman family backing this time i guess) and BMW may well be able to join in as Sauber come the first race.

Still nothing for Lola or Prodrive, who have F1 car ready to roll. Unlike USFoff and presumably lotus or Manor racing.

Yet the FIA are asking to have 14 teams next year.

Also

Symonds. Reading that transcript i'd say Reanult are as guilty as hell and are going to have the rule book thrown at them. hardy har har

BMW sold back to sauber and some investment bankers as the FIA seek approval from the teams for 14 grid slots next year.

We might actually see some amazing racing next year. I'm also glad to see Lotus back in the fray, usually very capable of throwing a car together that had alot of potential.

that was the old Lotus. This is a bunch of Malaysians. I'd wait before proclaimingthe second coming.

As with all these new teams, let's see who turns up for testing and who arrives in Australia.

my current betting is.

Campos, yes the dallara car is built.

Manor, nope. No car no team

USFoff, no car, a PR team and an empty factory in Hickvilles USA

BMW (Sauber), might have a year old car and a lease to run the BMW cars.

Lotus. Not a chance.

It's a good thing that's not what's happening then.

The name comes from Team Lotus, i.e - the old F1 team and it's been run with Litespeed, an F3 team set up by ex-Lotus F1 personnel. It's got more links to the old F1 team than McLaren has to anything Bruce ever touched.

I thought this was the most interesting part:

Symonds has been offered immunity from prosecution by the FIA in return for full disclosure about the alleged scheme to have Piquet crash on purpose.

During the spygate* scandal, the McLaren drivers were offered, and duly accepted, similar conditions right? I wonder if Symonds will do the same?

*I hate that term. I notice that the article above refers to this recent scandal as crashgate. :P
