That mistake was intentional. Do it on the runoff so you won't lose much time, and show everyone you were faster than the leader, without disrupting the actual result.

Don't be absurd. It's Far more likely Sauber don't want him taking risks that will cause him to bin the car. There's no chance in hell Ferrari would be able to get away wi influencing a team using their engines. FOM would eat them for breakfast
