The Formula 1 Thread

The thing that confuses me is that RB's strategy was ALWAYS to be on pole and drive away and control the race. I can't see anything to suggest they've changed their mind that this is the best way to do things. So are they actually properly off the pace? Are they going to end up slipping back?

Xbox stream worked really well, no problems at all. So stoked about tomorrow now :)

Not heard anything about McLaren race pace being off..... what's that all about? Or just impressions from testing?

Glad I switched out Kimi and Vettel for Schu and Button in my fantasy team now :)

It's interesting. There's this big post floating around various motor sport forums at the minute that suggests 'someone' in F1 thinks Red Bull have the best race pace ahead of Merc, with McLaren having the best one-lap pace but not looking quite so hot in race trim. All down to testing analysis apparently.

Thing is, if you're 6th and 8th on the grid or whatever then you're not going to be able to do much, good race pace or not.

Would have been great to see Kimi up top but maybe Grosjean's performance bodes well for Kimi making his way through the pack.

Like many others, I wasn't ready to believe it wouldn't be Vettel by a second until the dust had settled. Nice to see the two prettiest cars at the front.

I'm so pumped that Williams have made the top 10, Lotus are looking in it for the overall pace, Mercades are there and Redbull haven't fallen away. There's only really Ferrari that haven't turned up.

Looks like it's going to be a good start to a season, no team really shooting off into the distance. Let's hope this interrsting mix can carry on.

Totally awesome, Hamilton, Button, Schumacher, Vettel, Kimi and maybe even Alonso eventually will all be battling it out this season, looks epic.

One thing that isn't so awesome is that fucking guy who was presenting next to Damon Hill, trying too hard and just comes across as a football punter that's been asked to cover F1 and just be intense and make things dramatic.

Really highlights how good Jake is, admittedly he didn't have a clue about F1 either when he started, but he is sincere and thoughful and allows others to be themselves and gets good opinions out of them. This Sky dude just looks really tense and keeps looking to the camera.

Wasn't a fan of Lazenby with Hill either but they were never going to come close to the BBC team. Croft & Brundle worked better but you could tell they stepped on each others toes a few times with Brundle getting cut off. To be expected with them both being #1 in the box last season I guess.
