Ha I've not gone that far but will sky+ everything & pull the red eye for both quali & the race.

So after watching a shit load of coverage my overall thoughts are its great, the only 2 things I could maybe complain about are...

Just drive as the theme tune. It's too associated with the BBC for me. There are hundreds of better bits of music, they are using one (bit of daft punk - tron OST) in their adverts.

That bloke who doesn't know about F1 (jonesy or something) he wasn't as bad in the feature as I was expecting but I'm not convinced by him.

:omg:

This is going to be my 25th Australian Grand Prix. I'm only 29!

Stop it, stop it, stop iiiiit!

You're not allowed to be pulling the 'Oh I'm so youthful card!'. It's bad enough that you're fast, never mind have the decade-plus age thing on your side too!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get my slippers. :blah:

:D

P.S. I might join you here that evening. You can relay events to me! SPEAK UP! Eh?

Yeah, there's always a market for that kind of thing :)

Partly because lots of people who try to do similar cut the magazines up and sell individual articles, which pisses lots of people off. The full things in decent nick should get you a few quid :)

The fun doesn't just start in the F1 world this weekend chaps. For this weekend also sees the start of the World Endurance Championship at the Sebring 12hour race. The coverage starts on Saturday at 2.15pm on motors tv and ends at 3am sunday morning. Just in time for the start of the Australian GP.

I swear It's petrol head heaven.

Listen to the coverage on www.radiolemans.com

Yes I know Peugeot have pulled out and it looks like it'll be an audi benefit gig. But 60+ cars on the grid. Day/night racing. Lots of British interest and lots of Lola cars to cheer on. Aston Martin turning up with their new GT3 vantage, strakka racing with their new HPD LMP1 car.

It's the perfect warm up for the start of the F1 season. Proper racing ;) before the 2 hour Sprint race.

Finally got round to watching the first F1 show on Sky.

I thought it was excellent, apart from the soccer am style twat part which was just pointless.

Simon Lazenby was impressive as the presenter and really liked the snazzy swipe tv they were using. Brundle was top notch as usual and even Georgie Thompson seemed to fit in.

Really looking forward to seeing their first coverage of a race weekend - I have high hopes!

Yeah the soccer am guy is my biggest question mark. I get why he's there to appeal to the non or new fan. He wasn't as bad as I was expecting & thankfully he doesn't look like he'll be going to Australia. For now I'm giving him a chance.

Stick him in a rocket and shoot him to the moon. It's as bad as that stupid bint doing F1 for the girlies they had ITV. The highlight of which was her swanning around Monaco going to a whole bunch of swanky parties and gushing at all the D list celebs in their George at Asda hand me downs.

Once you have Soccer AM in there it'll be all "who's that wanker in the red car, red car" naaar bin it now and either get some one in who is funny or follow one of the rookie drivers all year.

This looks awful on Virgin (or I've been spoilt by being able to watch everything I want to watch in HD, or both).

And to rub it in I keep seeing the advert for the Sky F1 HD during the ad breaks on the same channel!?

I'd ignored all the hype around the launch of this but had a peek this morning and had to fire up twitter to see if there was something wrong with the broadcast or my box and discovered HD is a Sky exclusive. After watching a season in HD on the beeb I don't think i'll be taking the step back to watch a justin.tv quality broadcast so i'm deciding whether to just watch the BBC only races or spare my eyes from the platypus noses altogether.

Im watching it on Virgin and it looks great, not HD but defi a high bandwidth SD channel, the trailer for Sky's coverage is as close to HD as an SD channel has got IMO

Watching it on a Tivo box if that makes any odds.

I also watched Senna again today (is on Sky movies at the mo) again its an emotional ride but i must have missed the bit where Roland pretty much says he can't really handle the car just prior to the crash that killed him - made it even harder to watch :(
