I know i'm giving money to Murdoch :spits: buuuuuut i was before F1 & I have to say the coverage looks like it's going to be superb. All the onscreen talent I really cared about has gone to Sky. I'm more pissed off with the BBC for causing this. It looks like it's going to be a hell of a season & i hope that everyone who wants to watch is able to.

I love F1 too, and I can't really blame the top talent for moving to where the money is AND them offering what's looking to be better, more in depth coverage... ugh, it's just crappy it has to be Sky. Anyone but Sky.

Wait, 35 a MONTH??

a stream. There's a reason why Murdoch gets to bang women young enough to be his grandaughter.

Just seen the calendar and I think it's the following races that will not be live on the BBC:

Australia 18/3
Malaysia 25/3
Bahrain 22/4
Canada 10/6
Germany 22/7
Hungary 29/7
Monza 9/9
Japan 7/10
India 28/10
USA 18/11

Sky have skillfully arranged things so that there are very few back-to-back races on the BBC (other than valencia-britain) and the new tracks like india and USA will not be live on the beeb either, not to mention that the first 2 races of the season won't be live.

Very hard for plebs like myself without Sky to maintain interest over the season unless it gets off to an absolute blinder. Unless it looks an exceptionally competitive start I probably won't bother :(

I know what you mean. I'm sure I'll be able to watch every race live by nefarious means, but it's still put a massive dampener on my enthusiasm for the season. Usually I'd be scouring the testing timings and keeping a beady eye on everythin bit of F1 news/gossip, but I'm just not bothered this year.

Stick it up your bum.

With the cars looking like they've been in an after match brawl with two boxing has beens it's going to be easy to turn off. I didn't watch the cobbler and the years of itv based F1, so I will walk away. Shameful state of affairs really. Nice to have some input, but there's no way for as long as I've got a hole in my arse I'm going to line murdoch's coffers. Go and watch a race, go karting, see some le mans classic at donington, do anything but pay for sky.

This time, I really am gone.

See, here's a thought that Andrew Benson at the Beeb has pointed out.

Schumi's contract would end in 2014... the same year as a certain German double World Champion and his rather talented chief designer would also find themselves at the end of theirs... ;).

Do we have any confirmation what to expect from the BBC Highlights package yet?

Proof in the pudding we will find out first race.

F1 Forum is supposed to be on & a lot of focus on analysis from Coulthard & Jordan

Problem I have is that while I loved the dynamic between the team, Coulthard got on my tits and he will now get a bigger role. I'm hopeful that the Sky coverage will be good - I've been pretty impressed by their sport so far. I'll miss EJ the most I think. I wonder how they'll all cooperate in the pits? Are they going to ignore each other, play jokes, be snide or what?

I don't think any of these times from testing mean shit because throughout Jerez and Barcelona testing the underdog has always been on top. That is:

Lotus

Torro Rosso

Force India

Sauber

&

Williams

And we all know that isn't going to be the case when Melbourne breaks off. So why is it, that the main teams (Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes) don't show off their dominance during the period? My answer; because they don't want to.

Which is why all the midfield teams have the best times in testing.

Do we have a winnah?

Just got back from the track. 15 euros in, and about 25 mins on train from barcelona. Bloody warm day, and good access all around half the track. Was too knackered to see if it was possible to go the other half.

Red Bull looked great. Ferrari seemed a bit wobbly at the rear when I was down by the first corners. McLaren didn't look that good visually as the only team without the stepped nose. I thought the Red Bull looked lovely, as did the ferrari, but that could be down to that shade of red in the sun looking magnificent.

Got Sky Go working here in Canada! Hopefully I'm all set to go now. I tried a couple of shows out last night; there were some moments of buffering, hopefully that shouldn't plague my viewing too badly.

If it's like the Xbox player then live sports will be set to 'auto' quality, which means it'll try to find the best for your net. It can be a bit annoying that it constantly changes on the fly, watching the footy on it would go from a crisp sub-HD setting to something that looks like a realplayer video over 56k. Best thing I can suggest is get on the stream in advance and try not to put any other demands on your net connection.
