The Formula 1 Thread

Up at my parents for the Christmas season and have found my Formula 1 1990 yearbook

fia-formula-1-world-championship-1990-yearbook-as-new-31c70.jpeg

It's a really well put together book and review of the year, there's a number of drivers from that year I'd forgotten about. I still love the look of the cars of that era, in my mind's eye that's still what an F1 car looks like.

Think I'm going to go hunt down some more of the older yearbooks now.

Do some teams really need three reserve drivers? Seems like a waste of money especially for Caterham and Marussia.

In the case of Caterham, the 2nd and 3rd listed are their GP2 drivers so it's pretty much just an administrative thing. They'll probably do some of the straightline testing.

That's the only reason Quaife-Hobbes is on the Marussia list for instance.

No Sutil, Senna or Petrov at the moment then. Is Sutil favourite for the Williams seat?

Originally yes but given Jaime and Vitaly are available, probably at least on a par with him and bring more money (Although Sutil brings some) he should probably be very worried.
