Allegedly Legard will be on 5Live... teamed with James Allen! Only rumours so far, but if true...

The Ben Edwards thing reminds me of another thing that I like about the BBC coverage: they listen to people. Pretty much every motorsport forum has been calling for Ben Edwards to get the F1 gig for a while, and now he's got it. Best possible replacement for Brundle - really looking forward to seeing how he and DC get along in the commentary box.

Torro Rosso have sacked both drivers and gone with Ricardo and Vergne.

:o :o :o

THE FUCK!

Williams should be ringing Jamie, STAT! He deserves a seat.

Senna, Petrov+dollar, Buemi, Alguersuari, Barrichello, all on the dole.

And HRT have given Pedro a seat already.

Surely Borat will end up taking Trulli's seat or the second HRT seat.

It's hardly surprising though is it? Buemi's only really been consistently average and Jaime only got his thumb out of his arse once his seat seemed to be under threat, add into the equation the purpose of the Torro Rosso team and they're seats were never going to be there for much longer.

Alguersuari's only 21 - and starting to show real form. He should have been given another crack methinks. I'd stick him in the Force India over the Hulk.

Borat?... well, he's had his chance.

FUUUU... and I forgot about Sutil too! LOTS of tallent out there without a drive.

2 and a half seasons though, only Buemi's been at STR longer than Jaime, thats mostly my point. I can see Jaime getting a seat somewhere, not sure where though, but I think it'd of been either this year or next before he lost his seat at STR.

I was playing F1 2010 the other day, qualifying for the Spanish GP. Yellow flags come out and suddenly I'm hit with all this debris. It's on the first straight, I think, so I go 'wow, must've been a big crash'.

Nope, it was just Trulli spinning off somehow and smashing into the wall.

A bit surprised if I'm honest by both Toro Rosso drivers getting replaced. There really is a wave of talent just sitting to be snapped up surely HRT can null & void De Le Rosa's contract & Trulli please go

Shame they got rid of DJ Squire, when the car had the potential he was always up there, I remember the string of 7ths before the mid to late season lull, before TR finally making a comeback in the end. Daniel and him would have made a good pair

I was trulli's team mate till the fucking stupid spunk bucket voided my save data.

Any opportunity to send the sister lotus into the wall was taken with much gusto.

Bit harsh to do it tho when 90% of the drives are gone. From what I've read they had them doing press promo's the day before the announcement to talk about next years car etc. Either they were misled about their prospects or just jilted on a whim. Otherwise both of them would have been shopping round a long time ago.

They'd have to be quite clearly better than Vettel and/or Webber to replace either of them (unless they also come with money) or it's not worth the risk or changing anything.

I think they mean in the long run, when those two have moved on, as for people are cussing Webber:-

"Webber made his Formula One debut in 2002, scoring Minardi's first points in three years at his and Stoddart's home race. After his first season Jaguar Racing took him on as lead driver. During two years with the generally uncompetitive team Webber several times qualified on the front two rows of the grid and outperformed his team mates. His first F1 win was with Red Bull Racing in the 2009 German Grand Prix"

He did show ability even in the bloody Minardi, and should've won the drivers championship last year. All he had to do was keep the thing on the track.

Pity you missed the wikipedia bit about two years in a williams where he went out of his way to collide with aynthing or anyone within a stones throw of the car. A journeyman. See Patrese, Rubens or Massa for further reference :coffee:

Bollocks. He's faster than any of them. Could have, should have. Didn't. Shit happens.

He's unfortunate enough to race in very competitive times. Drop him into the mid nineties and he'd have wrapped up a few championships. The grid today is stronger than its ever been at the sharp end and then some. He's an easy target after a crap year against the class of the field riding the crest of a wave.

Also see Jenson Button, the journeyman and his years driving for Flav. Yeah right.

While it was a good drive, that 5th position is a little misleading since only 7 cars were running without delay by the finish and the 2 he beat consisted of Alex Yoong in the other Minardi and a single car from a team in their first ever race.

He's a convict, it's ok to dislike him. Whinges and moans when it's not going his way, and the icing on the cake is Seb handing him a win at the last race. Journeyman checklist completed.
