Lots of egg on faces in here then ;)

At least its defi not going to cost £600 to watch F1 next season ;)

We did you a favour, had it not been for quoting such large figures you wouldn't be able to prance around smelling of roses when everyone's still seriously out of pocket. :sherlock:

I think it's free to any sky package.

what they're doing with the freeview thing is effectively decoupling the F1 stuff form the rest of sky sports as they feel they'll get more income that way (which is probably right). Making it back part of the Sky Sports package would actually mean that people with a non-sports sky package (like me) would need to pay more to add F1 than people with no sky sub at all...

Is that free on Sky or free if you have Sky Sports.

Who's betting the latter?

Had to move my Dad to digital TV recently, he refused to go with Sky in the end because the headline costs were so misleading. When he specced anything up it was always far more expensive than the cover price led him to believe, thanks to all the additional costs you have to fudge in.

Fortunately he's relatively tech savvy for a 60 year-old, but this sort of thing I find really quite disingenuous.

Similarly my mum recently got talked into upgrading to BT fibre optic broadband which she doesn't need at all. She asked me to sort it out for her because her bills were so high but turns out there's an enormous cancellation fee. She's not really earning at the moment so can hardly afford it. Really annoys me. Anyway sorry - thread derail!

Daily Mail lies again?!?

Not to mention the BBC. It's not cost cutting if you're doing exactly the same stuff as before. Unless the BBC were paying Bernie money ON TOP of the existing contract for every race broadcast, how will this be saving money?

And no Italy, Japan, Australia in the schedule :( Extended highlights means no grid walk, no features pre race, maybe not even F1 news. Culling the post race chat in the main programme I don't mind, because the forum will cover that. But the rest...is crap.
