Your all mad. If I paid money for the last race I'd be pissing money blindly up the wall, it was awful.

I can get satelite, but there's no broadband facility out here as I'm too far from an exchange. It's not an option to be spending that kind of money when I struggle to justify the licence fee as it stands.

Im not sure i would pay a huge amount specifically for F1, i have to agree and i do love it - i pay for football , cricket and will have F1 on sky.

Fearing the worst but not certain, I had a look both last night and this morning, marsh. I believed '91 to be one of the gaps in the annual reviews and other than home-produced conversions from tape, can only add to what mexos has posted by confirming that it is otherwise VHS-only for now.

If you want to see for yourself, including the sub-title of...

Nearly Mansell

...will direct you to the FIA review if you'd like to try somewhere other than Duke. There were copies listed on Amazon for instance, but I'm afraid I didn't take note of the prices and they may have been solely second-hand sales.

By the way, does anyone have other reviews from that era?

It always amuses me how much they've dated - such that they somehow feel older than coverage from preceding years. The *cough* 'music', the commentary and the presentation - they all seem low-end and poorly done even for the time. Par for the course with motor-sport in general, from what I've seen (Rally is typically the same) and it will in part be down to being tape-based rather than film. I feel I could have done better with my little Amiga and a few cover-disks even in the Nineties! Perhaps it's a sign of how far things have progressed at last... :blah: It was the last thing I was thinking about in the twenty-odd years that I was a dedicated fan of F1 but other than the occasional font or colour change of the on-screen text, the presentation was somewhat stagnant for years. Thank goodness for Murray and his mic-sharing companions, along with the life put into the show around the races by the BBC team more recently!

From dodgy screen overlays to Eddie's shirts. Ah, how far we have come.

I would get a nice Sky Plus box, but I wouldn't be able to use it with a single feed :(

You can use a standard def sky+ box with a single feed, I used to have that setup in my old flat. You can also get it to record but it's a bit of a faff. The sky+ hd box has a single feed mode though, which gets around the problems recording you'd have with the standard box.

Me, i pay about £70/year for all the sky sports channels and espn etc, but yeah its £600/year just to watch F1

I think you need to be a bit more honest with yourself on your figures, you've already admitted you aren't paying for HD. The point is that it's not just the cost of the sky sports channels themselves, and you're even presuming they'll be kind enough to just put it all on SS1 and SS2. Football on weekends will take priority over F1 everytime won't it?

I was doing it on purpose, in direct comparison to F1 costing £600 - it won't cost me £70/year in the same way F1 doesn't cost £600/year to watch.

Obv we don't know what channel it will go on, i have all the sports channels but who knows they may put it on Sky 1, another thing being bandied about is a Sky 'motorsports' channel that will get loads more than F1 - GP2 etc etc, could be an amazing revival of televised motorsport and possibly on a separate sub to people who don't have the full sports package.

With the HD thing, the only stuff i don't get in HD are sports and movies, everything else is and given how much better the SD PQ is on Virgin over Sky i don't see the need to pay the money for the footy etc i watch - it is a fee Sky need to drop and given all the 'normal' HD channels are free on Virgin I'm buggered if i will pay them £7 for channels i actually don't spend much time watching.

But yeah it's about £3-400 for people like me.

P.S. Sharky cheers for the single feed info, does make it a little more attractive.

Still tending towards a Freesat HD PVR box for £250 though, which would solve everything but F1!

I'm sure Football does sometimes get relegated to ss3 if something like Cricket is on. Logically, they'll want the biggest possible audience so will put F1 on SS1, it's rare for there to be much clashing between the two and if there is they can always stick something at the bottom of the screen to tell people where the football is. If Sky put a game on SS3, people will still watch it as they will check all the channels for the game. If they put F1 on SS3 people might not even realise its on.

Petrov has said sorry, the team seem to have accepted the apology. And...

The Russian connection has allowed the team to do things such as taking Prime Minister Vladimir Putin out to play in an F1 car and putting Lada stickers on the side of the car, along with a number of banks from the east.

Unfortunately all their old staff have been leaving so they still seem to be a team in decline, thanks Flavio!

Why drive a Williams when you could drive a Lotus? Boulier has already confirmed contact.

Williams are getting Renault engines next year aren't they? With the experience of the team coupled with the exodus of quality staff from Lotus-Renault, Williams may be in a better position.

Also, can Lotus-Renault be called the works team anymore? Other than the engine, the team is owned by an investment fund... might as well call it Genii Lotus or something similar.

It can't, Renault refer to Red Bull as their works team.
