I never said there was...

I do not believe you know what a car length is then.

Unless the car you are referring to is an MCC Smart.

Look, I'm probably the most on Massa's side in this entire thread and even I think you're heading up shit creek on this one.

I'm still not even sure Vettel is that good. The car could just be amazing and Webber shite.

I suppose he might be technically good but he is utterly shit at being entertaining, bad for the sport and our enjoyment.

Problem with F1 is that because he runs away there's no point in the director showing us his in-car footage of banging out incredibly smooth, controlled laps. And it isn't really racing. It's most exciting during qualy when you see him on the edge and wringing the car out. F1's just a bit weird in that if someone has an optimal weekend you can only cerebrally admire it rather than get excited over it as a good weekend results wise inherently means lack of action and utter predictablity.

Do people really believe this?

I think Webber should be doing more with that car certainly, but it's meaningless to pretend that Vettel has done anything but aced this year. Really the closest he came to fucking up was Canada and he was hardly alone in that during that race.

There is no doubt that all year the red bull has been a vastly superior package compared to any other car on the grid. For a couple of races Mclaren has come close but overall red bull IS the car of 2011 & 2010. Seb in that car is the package but I'd be soooo interested to see him in equal cars with Hamilton, Alonso or button.

No doubt but he's been immense in every area on/off track. He's a complete driver. I think it would be between Alonso and him, think both are superior to Hamilton at the mo.

Yeah you can't take anything away from Vettel, he's delivered a back to back championship. that takes more than a good car. And he's a nice bloke too. .... the bastard ;)

Agreed I just really hope the cars are closer next year. Hopefully the new exhaust rules will even things out a bit.

Thing is tho people always mention the champion being in the best car but that's been the same since the dawn of Grands Prix. Yes, occasionally an inferior car wins but nobody ever won the championship in an uncompetitive car. All drivers want to be in the best car, whether it was Fangio, Stewart, Prost, Senna, Schumi, Vettel or anyone else. They all earn their spots and they keep them, which is the mark of the true greats.

Nope.

Vettel is amazing, what are you on about?

Vettel might be "amazing" and good at winning, but this situation is just going to mean I won't be watching F1 again for a couple of years - just like I stopped watching F1 during the Schumacher/Ferrari years. I don't watch F1 to fawn over drivers and think "man he is so good and such a nice bloke", I watch it for entertainment and the occasional bit of technical intrigue from Ted.
