So Massa outqualifies Alonso in 3 of the 5 races since the summer break.

Looks like he is starting to find his form again.

Whilst Alonso is the more complete driver I think that Massa has faster single lap pace.

A bit like McLaren where Button is the more complete driver but Hamilton is faster over a single lap.

Playing second fiddle to the teams number one means he'll be behind Alonso so they can get him or at least try to get him in front of Button. A complete wast of effort.

Just a thought, but with mist of the important positions are sewn up now so surely the top place teams would be wise to chuck a load of next years aero parts on the cars for evaluation purposes?

If I was redbull it's what I'd be doing....

There was alot of really mixed messages from Lewis today, its clear he see's today's Pole Position as a positive, but its a minor one in his mind, I think he's wary of it being a false start so to speak and doesn't want to get his hopes up too much. But at the same time, his comment to Kravitz about winning here and it not meaning much in the large scheme of things in regards to his "life at the moment" speaks volumes. No one really knows whats going on with Lewis at the moment. I think he's had far too much unfair criticsm this season, and I think the FIA have been the biggest culprit in this respect, I've said it before that they want exciting racing but the moment a driver provides them with that that driver is punished, unfortunately for Hamilton he's been the one dragged up in front of the stewards or under investigation more often than not, he's used to people loving his aggressive style, so when thats questioned by the governing body and the press its going to knock his confidence.

Then there's the aspect of everyone, including his own father and I believe his own Team Principle, questioning the management behind him. The problem is I don't think Whitmarsh is the man to direct a team with Hamilton in, he comes across as too nice and too fair and however Lewis takes criticsm I've gotten the impression he'd rather take it from someone who's actually going to tell him what he did wrong and not shy away from it but also give him the pat on the back he needs, instead most of the focus in interviews has been on how well Button's been doing and the extension of his contract, Hamilton is no longer the "Golden Boy" and he's struggling to come to terms with that which shows in some of his on track scrapings where he seems to be trying to prove himself too much rather than just doing everything naturally.

Quali this morning showed that the "old Lewis" does exist, and I think the Championship being completely over may be a weight off his own back now, he knows he can't win it, he knows Jenson has him beat this year and he knows the only thing he can do is focus on his own performance, its just a pity that there doesn't seem to be anybody close to him thats going to help. I think he's severed his professional ties to his Father who seems to be enjoying managing Paul di Resta, but he desperately needs someone properly supportive in his professional life right now.
