I am not so sure about Kimi as a team player.

In rallying they have a navigator, how did that work for him?

Don't see how there's any comparison?

He wasn't one of those who started by karting when they were three years old.

Yes but he's Finnish :D

On the contrary I really want to see a driver care. I want to see some fireworks, some personality.

I love Kimi's ice cold 'Don't give a shit' attitude..that's what makes him awesome and not forgetting his 'balls to the wall' driving.

Not sure what he is going to be able to do in a Williams though..

I would love to see him at Mercedes alongside Schumie.

I loved the race where it was pissing down with rain & he just parked up, got changed & ate an ice cream :)

He crashed out at Monaco in 2006 and just walked to his Yacht and sat drinking beer with his mates watching the race.

LOL another excellent moment :)

Hope he comes back but needs a better seat than Williams if he can get it maybe Force India? or Mercedes? or possibly replacing Massa at Ferrari.

Having looked into it a bit more, the platinum seats are out - so no Becketts or the decent Woodcote grandstands. Main reason is that they don't seem to do child tickets for the platinum grandstands, so becomes far too expensive for my friend with a 6 yr old kid :(

Thinking either....

Luffield A

Farm Curve

Club A

Any thoughts on which of these we should go for?

I reckon he needs to be at a top team. He always struck me as one of those "if you give him the fastest car he'll stick it on pole and spend the entire race in the lead, but if he's got the fifth fastest car he'll finish fifth" drivers. Now don't get me wrong, that's not a skill many have (just look at how far Webber is behind Vettel, for instance), but I can't see pushing a midfield car beyond its limits and making surprise appearances on the podium (like Alonso and pre-2011 Hamilton).

Right then Korea ... fuck it who cares.

The long blunt needle of speed nudges deeper into the upper reaches of the dial, gently caressing the soft redness where the engine stops murmuring and starts to purr and moan, growling with heightened desire. Eyes narrow as the driver feels the urgent throb building behind him, waiting for the howl and scream, the explosive trust of force propelling him into orbit.

Time slows as the heat rises, any second now and it will all be released in one huge detonation of noise and speed waiting for great gobs of torque to come hard and fast through the drive shaft to the wheels, which will rend and claw at the tarmac leaving their sticky residue in long thick lines.

The heartbeat quickens, sweat begins to prickle the skin of the driver, hot life giving fluid is pumped by machine. A rising crescendo of throbbing vibration and violent noise as first one then another light is sparks into life, the heart beats wait and then suddenly the lights are gone The cars are launched up the road in their haste to depart the scene before they are asked to pay for their ungentle manly manhandling of the pristine layer of tarmac.

Everywhere there is noise and movement. Flashing machines bark and snap left and right fighting to be freed from the grip of gravity and momentum. Twisting and turning driver and car wrestle each other for control, sweat stinging eyes, temperatures rising hot sticky rubber wearing thin with the strain of keeping everything planted on the edge of control, of adhesion and the short trip to the dark undergrowth and hard, hard wall. Quick precise fingers caress the gentle curves of the circuits, teasing the car to ever greater heights of desire to go faster and faster, building all the time.

Man and machine writhing together, faster and faster the cars pulsating around and around the track until finally the matador stands before the crowd and waves the flag in the face of the rampaging bulls and stallions, the crowd releases its breath in a wave of shouted exultation.

Then suddenly the champagne is being sprayed hard and fast high into the air and over the gently cooling bodies of the cars below. Fountains and fountains of sweet sticky fizz, eyes screwed shut against the jets of ice cold liquid. The media scrum a frenzy of flashlights blazing to capture the moments, the open eyed moment of glory as the victor, fist clenched, finger hard and pointing to the watching throng, demands their adulation and recognition.

I think Vettel will win.

Think it's not possible...

In other news, this is interesting.

http://www.wheels24.co.za/FormulaOne/Ferrari-wants-Vettel-Hamilton-20111011

Domenicali commented on Massa: "He will do everything to prove what he has to Ferrari, and the other drivers with contracts expiring will want to prove that they are ready to come," he said.

"Among those, probably, is Hamilton, but it's early."

All drivers want to be in the best car, especially the very good drivers who think history is cheating them when they get an uncompetitive car.

In current F1 there are 8 seats worth having. Ferrari, RBR, McLaren and Mercedes.

Next year we could have the following world class drivers competing for those seats. Button, Alonso, Vettel, the Cobbler, Kimi, Kubica, Hamilton and (possibly) Massa.

Hamilton is obviously the racer of his generation. But he is not a complete driver like Alonso and perhaps Button. He has made a lot of mistakes this season, some due to the team but mostly his own. So something is wrong. But class is permanent, form is temporary.

Just now I think that McLaren and Ferrari both have the ideal driver pairings. But I would love to see Kimi and Kubica find places in top teams, say Mercedes and Red Bull. Then we would have an amazing season.

Double post. Better put it to good use. Worth getting the senna blue ray extended three disc edition?

Is that the one with the Model JPS Lotus?

I went with the Blu Ray + DVD + Diginal Copy over the one with a yellow cover & Production Notes. Did not seem to include much extra, even for only £1 extra.

I'll cope perfectly fine. Back in the '90s it was all about Mansell/Hill and Williams - McLaren (and indeed Senna, for a time) was the enemy. I have no allegiance with teams; I follow the driver, and my favourite driver is still Lewis Hamilton.

What he said.

I follow drivers not teams, this isn't football after all.

It would be difficult. But I (probably  ) could get past it. I certainly don't despise them as much as I did in the JT days. In fact I quite liked Ferrari before he turned up and have acted a lot less like the schoolyard bullies they did under him.
