The Formula 1 Thread

How you are watching it will affect that. Satellite will be slightly behind terrestrial. Quite noticeable when we used to have a TV on terrestrial and a TV on Sky, with the same channel playing. Internet is probably a bit behind again. That's not even taking into account the satellite delay in getting it from the track to the BBC before they broadcast it to you. But it will only be seconds.

I think one of the thread regulars used to (still does?) even work in the broadcast of F1, though not for BBC. Would there a further small delay within the BBC as the producers do whatever they do with it?

I've observed the same thing with Sky although for UK broadcasts, even between normal sky and Sky HD there is a second or two in it (which is interesting when watching football in multiple rooms :coffee: )

The local time for FP1 is 10am, they are currently 8 hours ahead. At worst, I can't see coverage being more than a minute behind the live action as far as Tv goes.

Thanks for the responses. I tend to normally watch every session be it practice, qualifying or race through the BBC website, but I came across an awesome website not too long ago which streams pretty much every freeview TV channel (www.tvcatchup.com) and noticed there was little to no difference. Now whether the latter is out of sync aswell I don't know, but I'm certainly interested to find out. I'm also interested if it's possible to watch coverage of each session live by the second it happens in real life, or is it always out by a few seconds at the minimum?

Vettel with his DRS open through that last fast corner.. wow... is that a mistake (as he wouldn't be breaking before it probably) or intentional (really ballsy) do you think?

He's got a car that will let him do that. He said it was a bit "alive" but doable in qualifying.
