The Spa thing was completely different though. Kobi was properly alongside on a straight - Lewis just didn't look. Here there was only one person who could avoid contact and he didn't, ruining Massa's race. Not the most stupid thing ever, granted, but still his fault, just like it was in Spa.

Does the pit lane in Singapore have a lower speed limit than other circuits? or is it longer? seems to take forever for the cars to travel through it.

I think it's slower. It's 40 here and I'm sure I've heard 60 mentioned elsewhere. It may not be the only slower one due to pits being tight.

Thats what I thought, I did hear them mention 40mph during the Hamilton-Massa pit stops before their collision and was checking my memory was serving me correctly that it was around 60 elsewhere.

Is it just me or have the stewards started taking a much harsher view of collision in the last few years? It might just be my misremembering things, but didn't it used to take quite a lot to get a penalty for hitting someone? I remember Kimi getting away scott free with taking out Sutil at Monaco 2008 and that was as clear cut a stupid fuckup rather than a racing incident as you could hope for.

That does seem to be the case, I think its all rather stupid, they want exciting races with lots of passing but that will also naturally lead to more accidents which they then punish the driver for, the fact Hamilton had to come in to have his wing repaired should have been punishment enough as that takes roughly 8-10 seconds longer than a tyre change anyway.

The severity is too much.

An incident that gets a stop go, should be downgraded to a drive though, and a drive through downgraded to a yellow card. It's motor racing after all. Shit happens in racing.

My issue is Lewis is damned no matter what he does. Last race "not aggressive enough, where's the old Lewis" this race "silly mistakes etc etc."

I just plain feel sorry for the dude. He's getting it from every angle. I really hope he has a front running car under him next year & can do a vet & not have to worry about overtaking.
