according to Bernie on 5Live is we're all up for this ....

The 15 pages of comments from the sports editor on the BBC website would seem to suggest otherwise..... :sherlock: I'm sorry, but the deal is still as shit as it was yesterday morning.

I'm not watching quaily today, best to stick to weaning myself off this early and hold out for race action. If I was Brundle I'd walk away, his boy has talent, he's endured two seasons with Leggard who will now end up on sky with his mate Allen, and has been sold up the shitter like his co-presenters.

A whole generation of future fans of racing in general will be lost, not least of all potential UK talent.

Bollocks to it, back to my garage

You know what, with all this pay TV shit I find myself with little desire to watch qualifying today. Maybe I'll change my mind by 1.

Yeah. It's really taken the shine off things. Just a sort of resigned sense of "Formula One is over" at the minute.

You may need your eyes examined :)

What can I say? Prior to the start of the session, before the link appeared at the top of the front page, there was no mention of it anywhere. According to the site, the 'Next Formula 1 coverage on the BBC' was qualifying. ^_^

Why does anyone think Sky would fill their coverage with adverts?

Surely they want this to drive subscriptions and that's their main revenue stream?

Do they stop football coverage at 15 minute intervals during play to put adverts in?

I suspect the killer question should really be - which races will the BBC be covering live? I imagine they get higher viewing figures for the European ones...

After all the bullshit of the past 24 hours, it's great to sit down on a Saturday morning and watch some of the fastest cars in the world turning their wheels in anger in FP3.

I bloody love F1 as does tens of millions of others. Let's hope the sport remembers what's most important, that the fans can continue to watch it.

Interesting P3 there. No fast lap from Hamilton. All the front drivers didn't look comfy with the cars, wind and cars in front seem to be causing issues with the balance.

Still, the Redbulls are looking dangerous, they were the ones that clearly had more to give, so I'd bet for a RB front row with a potential Hamilton pulling one out of the bag.

No, but football is 45 mins long, not 2 hours. Do they really show the whole of say, the Masters without ads?

A better comparison is do they show films without ads. And the answer is yes.

Plus they have already ruled out ads. Plus the BBC will be broadcasting half the races as well so they are hardly likely to want to provide a worse experience than the BBC.

They're Sky, by definition they provide a worse experience than the BBC.

You need to quit this whining about ads in live sport, simply put Sky do not cut to adverts during live sport - not that difficult to grasp is it. If you want an example take a test match, during the entire 5 days they do not cut to an advert during the live action

5

days

with

no

adverts during live action

comprende?

I imagine they will manage the same in F1 where there is a maximum of 2 hours. Of course there will be multiple ads during the build up and after race stuff but non during the race.

I doubt that do, Sky are far more innovative than the BBC with technology and have been years ahead of the BBC with HD, 3D, multi angle and multi stream coverage. They have a vastly bigger budget and could buy the entire production setup from the BBC should they wish. What is the point in spouting stupid speculation about something you can not forecast in anyway and can't even get the known facts right??

Yes its shit news, yes i would rather it stayed on the BBC but that ship has sailed unfortunately :(
