The Sopranos - Series 6

That clip was excellent. I am really going to take the end of the Sopranos hard, for me there has never been a discernible dip in quality. I hope for a complete boxset though.

Yeah, it was superb stuff. Can't wait for next week's, but I'm sad that it's all ending :) I hope they'll release a fairly affordable HD DVD complete box set.

Can't wait to see the next episode, but I might might just hold out a few more days for a HD version to be posted

Does anyone know

why Tony brought the crew over from Sicily to hit Phil? I was sure Furio was going to appear when Tony decided to bring them in. I thought it might have been some custom amongst the mob when it came to killing other bosses but Phil just got his regular goons to shoot Sil.

Fly in do the hit, fly out

Apparently

I had no idea what he looked like! I must watch that again...

Please don't say that- can you imagine how much a complete HD box set would cost? Even if it was a reasonable price for the amount of discs, it'd still be a fairly big chunk of change. And I'd find it very hard to resist...

I can't agree with this. The Sopranos has always been compulsive viewing but season 5 and the earlier part of season 6 where not up to the standards of seasons 2 to 4. I'm glad the show is ending as it really has run its course. It's been excellent in recent episodes but it's felt a bit disjointed at times throughout this season.

See, this season has easily been the best for me. Amazing internal moments for Tony. Shocking violence. Touching storylines. Plus a real sense of excitement going into the finale, in that it could literally end in a hundred different ways...yet I don't think any would disappoint me.

That's exceptional writing at work.

I'll second this, Season 5 (to an extent) and the first half of Season 6 weren't upto the standard of the earlier seasons. The second half of 6 has been superb, however.

I don't know anything about cigars but that sounds like a good plan. Tony seems to always have one in his hand.

Anyways. Was reading this article just now, it's excellent. 100% up to date as well:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DiMeo_Crime_Family

That's a really great wiki/article. I've watched the whole thing but I've forgotten a lot of what's happened in the business and all the names and hierachies. There's some links to non-fictional families on there too <_<

I like the cigar idea.

Anyone else have any "last ever episode of The Sopranos" rituals lined up?

Got to mark the occasion somehow.

Baked Ziti anyone?

I was thinking about making Lasagne out of the Sopranos cook book, but it's extremely tricky. I'll cook something out of it, but maybe not that. Baked Ziti

I got it from Amazon after Christmas, but I just noticed that they don't stock it anymore. It seems to be the same on a fair few websites now actually....

I'd say ordering it through Waterstones or the like would be your best bet at this stage.

That scene with the trains was just stunning.

I'm surprised at the turn of events, expected it to play out without major incident. It's wierd seeing Tony's crew so vulnerable.

I have no idea what to expect next week.

Just got one off eBay (new, not second hand) for £12 delivered. Worth it, hopefully.

I paid slightly less than that when I bought mine and it's been well worth it. Some fantastic recipes in there and a lot of stuff I don't think you'd see in many other recipe books.
