Team selection due to injury etc had this as a loss, we are really missing Kulusevski going forward and had a defence today that screamed penalties galore - I think over the season we will be ahead of Newcastle and dont quite have the squad to mix it with Man City, Chelsea & even Man U - Liverpool will be in and around and Arsenal too. Probably the hardest top 4 race for a long time and fully fit first team and I think we can push it.

 

We have a run of games we should be winning and Liverpool in that run too, think we will know more by the end of that. Not quite Poch in yet….

My main issue is just how awful we are to watch. It's usually 90 minutes with maybe one or two moments of brilliance. It's almost not worth putting myself through the misery of it all.

This is where I ended up last season.

 

They need to sort out what the fuck the plan is at the back when they try and take the ball from Lloris, it's nervy as hell and Newcastle had done their homework from the Man U game.

 

I'd rather return to keepers booting it up the field and taking a 50/50 chance of losing possession in the opponents half, because it ain't working the other way

Much better this second half (Conte), but we've still not had the quality to take our chances (players). 

 

Not sure where the problem lies tbh, but that first half was awful and I put that down to Conte's tactics.    

 

Our first team is just not that great tbf, it's top 6 / Europa League standard reliant on Kane and Son.   

 

Who was it with the Flying Lotus avatar who was saying this all last season (that we're not ready for the CL, but we all dismissed?)  Well, they're right!  😀

Yep. Dog shit VAR again. 4 minutes to get the lines looking like offside. And even then it was dubious. I didn't bother celebrating as this is what the game is now.

Fuck sake, gets worse - headed backwards off a defender and Kane is offside!? The system is fucked and better still they dont know their own rules 🤬

On my way back from the game with the boy. Fuck me, we were bobbins in the first half. No urgency, no pressing, wasteful with the ball. Son and Kane were fast asleep. Second half was much better, and on another day might have had 2 or 3. We went mental when the second goal went in, and couldn’t believe it when they called it back for offside, wankers.

I did notice that it was 2-0 when Emerson went off to be replaced by Perisic. He should have given Spence a start; has good experience playing against that same Bournemouth team last season.
