Nintendo DS Lite

Hmm, well, the screen protector thing is a bit of a moot point right now, seeing as I completely fucked up applying it anyway and had to throw it away... Might buy another later, or I might just not bother.

Anyway, absolutely loving my new Lite, freshly imported via Lik-Sang. However, I've noticed that the bottom screen has three dead pixels. It's not too bad - I can't make them out while playing Mario Kart, just on the black screen transitions - but I'd prefer not to have them. Anyone know if I'll have any chance of extracting a replacement from Nintendo, at least after they launch in Europe?

The USB cable does work with an iPod mains adapter, in case anyone was wondering or put off by the idiot who said it only worked with an iPod.

I was only repeating what Apple themselves, and many, many others in the Mac newsgroups have also found. I said this at the time too.

How does that make me an idiot?

I'm off to Turkey for a week, got some DS games for the occasion (AC:WW, Pokemon Link, Ace Attorney) and just wanted to ask, would the normal japanese 2 pin mains work there? I know its 2 pin over there, but you know, it might have voltage differences.

In which case I'd have to put the 3 pin thing ontop of the main 2 pin, then a EU 2-pin ontop of that.

Oh dear.

Sadly, I think you're going to have to do some stacking. I thought Turkey was 220V, Japan 110V, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Yep, I was right, except Japan uses 100v, not 110. Check them out here:

I think one half of Japan uses 100v and the other half uses 110v, just to be extra confusing!

www.dvdcrave.com.au

Have now got the DS Lite listed. The AU release is before the US, on the 1st June 2006! I believe the model is only available in white as per the US.

The price (minus local tax) is a measley £74.96 plus postage. I believe this works out at about £93 with UPS and £80 ish with standard postage.

A billy bargain for thos interested....

The direct link is: https://ssl.dvdcrave.com/products/product.jsp?pid=27130

..from past experience the site is tax man friendly

Use Airmail, email them about marking down just in case, comes in 3-5 days, no TAX.

Incidentally, I bought this universal PSU off eBay. £5.80 including shipping and arrived within 2 days of paying. Much better and cheaper than having a massive stepdown.

;)

Did anyone pre-order one of those?

If these guys are any good I'll import a dozen and flog em here. Mucho ca$h to be made I say !

How about not abusing the offer so that others can get them. Too much to ask?
