I'd love if the Broken Family Band got a bit (read as *any* bit) bigger. Their new album 'Balls' should be out in February and going from what I've heard at the 5 or so gigs I went to of theirs last year I highly recommend it already.

Of things that will actually happen, the Arctic Monkeys will be fucking massive.

I'm not sure, they stink of one-hit-wonder to me. possibly.

I hope hot chip get bigger, they deserve it!

iFoward Russia! will probably get more indie press coverage, but i doubt they'll break the mainstream.

I think the guillemots have a bigger chance of getting big, anyway.

Isn't the CYHSY album already out here? I saw stacks of them in virgin in mid november.

Are those from the Bloomsbury Bowling Alley? I was there. Awful gig. They've been really super on previous ocassions, though.

Oh and they're all taken. As Rin found out the hard way.

The Rock & Roll Soul Bowl?

Best name ever. I was supposed to go to that but we didn't bother in the end.

Saw them supporting Go! Team in Bristol last year. My favourite one has since left. :(

Yeah. What happened to her AND has anyone got pics of her? I recall her not being AS hot for some reason.

Shit. I forgot The Blood Arm. They did a burst of touring/promoting here not long after support Maximo Park on their first decent tour but nothing substantial.

They were AMAZING live. The lead singer licked my girlfriends face!

I know them, they're on my mates label. I saw them live not so long ago and they blew me away despite the music not really being my thing.

Hopefully they should be doing big things in the not too distant future when my mates sorted out some funding from a major.

Guillemots will hopefully be massive as the are really good disregarding the hype. I would love to see a local band Rivals do well this year as they are very very good but people tend to ignore Northern Ireland.

Fucking hell. I wrote a huge thing out for firefox to crash when I was hunting out the links. ANYWHO.

Half way through the year then pokes.

Still standing out for me as being really ace at something not terribly different. Outshone The Walkmen as support the other week- though that probably had plenty to do with the few of us lapping them up whilst all the moody cunts bar hugged/were out for a fag.

Pony Up! Amazingly lovely band, as lovely as The Pipettes but with the musicallity to back it up. I doubt they'll be huge but they've the promise to try.

Stumbled into them a few weeks ago- quite promising. They're all really super young, in fact I think they can't do any massive support tours because they're still at school or something. Their song structures are wonderfully unpredictable for the small spectrum they're working with musically and their innocence shines through a wee bit too much- they could be heading for a media cunt-up in that respect. Still ace though.

Tada! Anyone for anymore? I really don't like doing the big recommendo to stuff I'm not totally clued up on, but loving skinny indie I am.

EDIT: Thought I'd point out YSP!WSD!, Blood Arm and Roland Shanks are all touring in a few weeks. Tapes 'N Tapes too! Go spend a fiver on something you'll remember spending it on, or something.

I think putting your own band in "going to be big" this year is a bit...well. Especially as from what I heard it was fairly forgettable and about as far away from "edgy" as testicles.
