Creators of MGS Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness

Too Human is going to be a trilogy and is an action adventure game which is using the Unreal Engine 3. Meaning the graphics will be excellent!

Overview

Step into the world of "Too Human," the next-generation third-person epic action-game from famed developer Silicon Knights. As the Cybernetic God Baldur, players are thrust into the midst of an ongoing battle that threatens the existence of mankind. An ancient machine presence has forced the God’s hand. In the first of a three part trilogy, Baldur is charged with defending mankind from an onslaught of monstrous war machines bent on eradication of human life.

Why does it mean the graphics will be excellent?

Juding by another game that uses the Unreal 3 engine (Frame City Killer) I assume the game will look like the offspring of Ken Dodd and Anne Widdecombe.

You know, God of War 2 was announced with teh GT4 online thing, apparently. Didn't seem to get a mention on here, that I noticed, anyhow.

Still, cant say I think Too Human sounds like much cop at the moment. Downloading the interview now, I did stream it, but after about 1 minute, it decided to pause while it buffered more of it even though it was bufferring faster than it was playing :o

EGM Scans

Einhanderkiller from GamerzPlanet is hosting some new magazine scans from Silicon Knights' upcoming Xbox 360 title Too Human, and the game is looking good. After 3 generations of development (the title was originally slated as a Metal Gear style adventure ... for the PlayStation One), Denis Dyack's team has transformed their planned trilogy into beautiful action game that they hope is very simple to pick up and play. Here is some info we picked up from the scans:

* The camera control will be taking away from the player, similar to God of War. Indeed, the controls involve only the basics: move, attack (melee, right hand, left hand), and jump.

* Since Dyack feels that "puzzles and platformers tend to be frustrating," expect Too Human to focus on the fighting -- as he put it, some of the fighting surpasses t hat of Soul Calibur.

* Continuing with the name-dropping, Dyack likened the boss battles to those from Metroid and Zelda titles, and more plentiful than God of War.

* The online multiplayer will be similar to that of Phantasy Star Online -- four players over Xbox Live playing through the single-player adventure together (with increased difficulty). Dyack includes the anecdote, "imagine you launch an enemy up in the air, then your buddy jumps up and grabs him by the legs and piledrives him into the ground." Fun.

All in all, Silicon Knights president Dyack compares his project to 5 videogames, 3 movies, and a Super Bowl broadcast -- we are not sure how many references make the game unique, but it definitely makes for a funny, amalgamated concept (in our imaginations, at any rate). Silicon Knights' Nietzsche-centric action game looks to be coming along nicely and we hope to hear more about it at E3.

Eternal Darkness was one of my favourite games of the Gamecube generation, but this *sounds* very generic...

Generic? Hmmm... I'm not aware of many sci-fi styled combat romps that are gonna be covered in a trilogy of games based around Norse mythology.
