uTorrent stats:

Downloaded: 12.2 GB, over 10 of that must be oink. Best xmas present I had this year!

Not bad eh?

So when do we stop getting freebies, says Jan 1st inclusive, that mean we get the whole of tomorrow as well yeah?

Tits. I deleted Giddy Motors - Make It Pop (which was pish) from another music torrent site and deleted yesterday, only for me to spot the request on Oink a bit later!

Anything I upload I'll try and upload lossless, because I've almost surpassed my download already with one torrent I uploaded.

86 new albums. Crazy.

Of what? Jesus. I barely have enough space for more than a handful, ne'r mind fucking listening to them.

I let my flatmate have a whirl and he's going to spoil my +200% ratio, and I signed up after the 23rd. He managed to get the new Arctic Monkeys album in about 3 minutes or something INSANE like that.

Whats the best way to rip a CD into Lossless quality?

Will have to work on my ratio seeing as I have just joined and think that uploading would be the answer.

Anyone who loses their account on Oink is stupid. It's really not hard, just don't delete any torrents and leave them all open. Most of the time you won't even need to upload anything yourself to keep an acceptable 0.7 ratio.

Just don't download a Bob Dylan or Elvis Presley Discography.

sorry if this has already been said but what exactly should we go for? as Nutcasey says there's too many seeders. everything I go for has barely 1 or 2 leechers. Should I download something I don't even want just because it has more leechers? as for catching new releases we will have no idea what most of the stuff is so no way to predict what will be big.

I uploaded two things last night and managed to get a 0.5 ratio with them but that will be destroyed next time I download anything, as I'm not getting many seeders on them. if everything downloads quicker than I can upload, surely I can never get a 1:1 ratio :)

unless there is a problem with my uTorrent.

I apologise for this mini-rant...

Aside from the festive season thing, I got my ratio up into the no-risk area by going through the requests section and ripping my own CDs at high bit rate then seeding them and filling the request. Instant credit.

yeah I missed the festive thing :)

I ripped 1 CD that was requested, only a cd single. I've had about 4 people download it. now theres 4 seeders and no leechers. Looking through the archives every CD I own is on there already, and any CD I ever buy will be on there before I can upload it. :P

Using the browse function is a good way to see which torrents have loads of leechers - click on the up and down arrows to see highly leeched/seeded torrents.

Due to the "free" period over Christmas far more people are seeding than usual. Just upload your own torrents and stop downloading for a week or so, you'll soon make your ratio back up.

If an album is on there at 192kps, it's okay to put it on at 320kps (or vice versa). Freebies from magazines normally go down well, especially if they're unavailable in the States.

Accounts are deleted after 6 weeks of inactivity, and you dont have to torrent, just log into the site now and then. You can get reinvited though, as technically you did nothing wrong, although you wont be able to take advantage of the free period.

And I think I may have killed the tracker!

I have also lost my account due to inactivity. What do you need to do to get back in?

Ask Benno in the Members section.he usually is a good bloke and has some invites going.

The trackers seem down for all the torrents I want.

Because we don't want the site to be flooded with new users hoping to cash in on this, users who joined after December 21st are not included in this and their stats will still be recorded as normal.
