Ridge Racer 6.

RRR was great...music.....tracks...everything. Best in the series behind 6 and Racers.

No one else will agree of course.

RRR was the reason I bought my PS1. I loved RR but never had the chance to play it properly, I remember trading in my 3DO and waving good bye to my beloved Need for Speed (the 3DO version of NFS IMO will always be the best in the series), but the first time I drifted "that" hairpin of RRR, oh my god. It's the reason I'm still playing RR6 today.

Any advice?

Sarky comments not appreciated.

Just had this happen. ;););)

5 hours down the fucking drain.

Also for some reason, I couldn't select Ranked or Player Match despite being clearly logged into Live. :(

Why the hell does this keep happening with 360 games? Do you have more than one profile on your 360?

Are you guys using a MU or HD...clocked 13hrs so far, if it gets deleted ill be going apeshite.

HDD.

I think the trick is only ever bring up the guide after you've selected the HDD/MU and it done the autosave, otherwise it cocks up.

As for not being able to select any kind of online races (save the Global Time Trials) I'm stumped. WTF is up with that?:angry::angry:

Played this for an hour or so last night and whilst it looks pretty and all, it seems very pedestrian to me. I am hoping the better car classes give a greater sense of speed or it may be going back.

They do. It'll take you a few hours to get there, though...

The don't. Well using the fastest cars available at the start in single race it felt as fast as pushing a trolley up the M1. Some of the cool looking future racing cars look like they may improve it though.

Out of interest, are you playing from the bumper cam or external cameras? I flicked on the (rubbish) external view for a bit on the weekend, and it really did feel turgidly slow. From the bumper cam though, which the Ridge games have always been designed to work with, it looks nice and nippy.

External view. Any arcadey race game like this, Outrun 2 or Sega Rally I always play in external view because you spend most of the time travelling sideways along the track. Internal view all the way in more serious racing games.

That's your problem then - it really does look a lot faster from the internal view. Being a Ridge game too, you never have to worry all that much about where you're heading during a drift. The game actually lends you a hand, ensuring you take a good line through the drift unless you do something stupid.

Ditto - I'll try the bumper cam later.
