Ridge Racer 6.

Namco need to fix that bug soon, as us geeks will know about these magic fixes but the average man on street will think RR6 is a load of bollox online *.

*Its probably unlikely the average man on the street would be playing RR6 online.

But they're nigh impossible to handle on corners? I just end up in a wall with them?

You have to learn to trust them, trust the game. Playing Psp Ridge is a massive help (and obviously using dynamics). You turn really early into the corner, let off accel, hit it again (you can even just ease of it...dynamics will skid even on a standard corner without letting go of accel). Then the car drifts and the game holds it on course. The assistance is cut down from the Psp game but its still there...if a corner looks like this:

/

\

/

^

and the arrow is you...

you turn right...let go of accel, hit it, drift right...and the computer will drift left for you aswell...and right again. Its a massive assist but u gota learn how to use it.

Sorry if this is all patronising but its well handy to know. When i unlocked the the duels i won the 1st 5 without failing once ..all cos of the dynamic cars handling.

Well, I'm loving the one player. I hammered the PSP version and this feels very much like a continuation (with blander music).

But!

I'm still having major FPS probs the sec I go online...I've never had my 360 connected to my PC and also never had custom playlists...

What is the problem? - I'd love to try it on Live.

Any input greatly apreciated.

Go to System blade, go to Computers, make sure the 360 knows you're disconnected from the PC.

Yes, it's crazy.

Trouble is, that if anyone you are playing against hasn't sorted out what has been mentioned, it still screws up the game online for everyone.

Still quite an unforgiveable bug.

I don't want to have to disable my PC each time in the dashboard I want to go online. Which is why I don't bother going online with it...

I have the answer as it was happening to me too mate. You need to assign your Xbox a static IP, then put that IP in your router's DMZ. I guess some routers throttle some of the ports it needs or something.

Also make sure you're running in 60hz as others mentioned.

The one player's just needlessly large.

I'm half way through the Expert Route and before now, the only challenge has been the Crinale and Angelus - which makes the 50% of the game that comes before it almost completely pointless.

Basic Route needn't have been included.

Ideally, they could have just eliminated the Class 1 and Class 2 cars and left the rest. Utterly pointless cars and give newcomers a terrible first impression of the game.

I finally completed the Single Player earlier, after completing the hellish Final Route. I now have a fancy little Laurel Crown next to my name online, can set up Laurel Crown only lobbies too.

How odd. The Pacman-mobile's probably the best handling, best all-round "car" I've used so far.

I've hit the middle of Expert Route and by fuck is it hard. Before now, I've gotten away with saving three nitrous till the final stretch before passing my interminably slow opponent but Expert route demands you use nitrous constantly, as you've no chance of winning unless you're in the first 3 on the final lap.

Christ - if they hadn't bothered with basic route, this would've been amazing.

This game is trance inducing. Gaming at its best. The races are so fucking tense. I also like the fact that the racing dynamic/AI has been changed from previous games. No longer are cars just placeholders and in the same place everytime, they now race in packs.

I wouldn't have minded the slower classes if basic route didn't make me spend so long with them. Seriously, basic route's fucked up.

You mentalist. You're less than 50% of the way through. If you think it's "tense" now, just you wait.

I've never used the Class 1 or 2 cars out of choice since unlocking the faster cars, they handle like crap and take ages to get any kind of boost. I go back to the slower cars on other games (Outrun2 and PGR2 spring to mind) but these are completely useless - just shit and slow.

I think there's some need for a basic route but it could easily have been a third of the length. The game hits a nice sweet spot at the Advanced/Expert level which could have been extended if anything.
