Ridge Racer 6.

In reference to the difficulty;

Jesus...

I'm not suggesting it's too hard, I'm saying if you plotted it out on a fucking graph, it'd be a straight line for every basic route race you did, followed by a spike where the remainder of the game begins and ends.

I've noticed a gradual increase in difficulty. It also depends on which cars you use for the races. Also, there is a clear difference in difficulty between the tracks eg the wider city tracks are prettty easy and high speeed while some mountain tracks take massive concentration to take corners, boost and overtake cars especially in class 4 where the other cars are a lot bigger.

Every twonk i've seen on the demo pods, is playing this completely wrong.

I had a fantastic moment today. I was out and about shopping with my Brother and we wandered into HMV. Usually when my Brother enters HMV it is not for a short time, half an hour is about average. Anyway I had a browse for ten minutes but didn't really find anything of interest so I wandered over to the 360 pod that had four or five guys around it playing Ridge. When I say playing I actually mean bouncing off the sides a lot, coming last and generally bitching it out. After a few minutes I ask if I can have a go and they move to one side telling me it handles shit but go ahead. Now since I bought this last Friday I have had nothing else in my 360 so I've kinda got the hang of it. So on I go and annihilate the early race sliding every corner and hitting the nitro whenever possible. I win of course and one guy keeps going, "Woaaaah! Awesome dude." I start another race and do the same again explaining how to play it. By the time I finish the second race there is about eight people around me and I actually got a small round of applause. I've never been an arcade player so I've never experienced this kind of thing before. With perfect timing my brother comes over and says he ready to leave, there is quite a bundle to get on next and I walk out of there with the biggest grin on my face and my heart pounding. Sometimes I fucking LOVE gaming and today was most certainly one of those days.

Sadly once upon a time RR handling was the norm. These days players expect to either drive full throttle ala NFS and Burnout or brake and then turn ;)

When played well RR6 is fucking insane and looks spectacular.

Im 53% through right now and the races are mentally exhausting. I have to sit and concentrate 120% taking on the special races, whats worse is,I've just unlocked the "master" route... I've been too chicken shit to even try the expert route as yet. This game just keeps on giving. The devil car is proving to be a bastard as always

DJ H is insane though "DONT TALK TO MEEEEEEE... hahahaha!!!!"

I discovered the best thing ever last night. That external hard drive topic made me realise that I had a way of playing custom soundtracks without the proper HDD. So once my hard drive was hooked up, I ended up playing RR6 to the sound of the Ouendan soundtrack, with headphones, at high volume.

Gaming nirvana.

Thanks man :D

For every "woah, awesome dude", there are four people going "sad cunt". This is true for ALL public "gaming", DDR, demo pods etc.

Yes, that would have been my brother, for one, as we left the shop and for at least 10 minutes after. I didn't care though, I was in a state of geek nirvana.

I'm about half way through now but theres one race smack bang in the middle of the map that just wont load. Everytime I go to start race the loading screen comes up and my 360 drive just goes 'fuck off I cant be bothered' GRRRRR! So frustrating!

I dont know if its worth changing it for another copy..?

Well a lot of other people seem to have accepted that theres something wrong with the game... My intro still only loads about 25% of the time too -_-

If there was something wrong with the game itself then surely they'd all have the same problem? I've been playing for about fourteen and a half hours so far, and it hasn't crashed or failed to load anything.

Why not just swap it for another copy, and if that gives you the same problems then get a refund?
