Blue Dragon On 360

The only thing I've found for medals is to buy hearts - they are really helpful as they get you levelled up quicker than fighting.

I'd use them unless anyone else has found a reason later on (I'm on disc 3)

I only use them if my classrank is above 50. Leveling up then costs 100sp so you will have the maximum effect off your hearts

It is.

The dragon is in the southern part of the desert, but only after you talk to a guy in the underground snow village(Kalaso or something). It's the guy near the top of the stairs. Maybe you have to defeat the dragon in the Underground River first, before the desert one appears. Not too sure about that.

And it's really great seeing this game get so much love in here. Blue Dragon deserves it

Yeah I've seen the dude and also done the

dragon in the underground river

so he should be about. I know where you mean now

crystal spike area

, yeah?

He was the next in the list in the faq so hopefully he's easier than the one in

Gul Mountains

who is a bastard.

Oh and also, where is the log book in the English version, this faq says that I can find out how many moster fights etc I've done by looking in the logbook in the camp menu. From cross referencing other bits, I'm assuming camp menu is the general menu where Shadow, Skill, Accessories etc all are but I can't find the log book for toffee...

I just got back to the village at the beginning of the game, and stopped playing because Persona 3 arrived. Since i've been playing that i've lost all interest in coming back to this. It's just not grabbed me I suppose.

This is probably a good thing though as Gloomy Andy loves it.

Yes. Near the sea to the south.

Depends on what classes your characters are...

Go to Menu-> Items->Encyclopedia->Battle Record.

But I assume later there'll be places to get much better SP per fight?

Yes there are, but I didn't use the hearts early in the games. So now I don't really need them anymore and use them for getting maximum sp points. I might use them when I start playing the new game+ I downloaded earlier this week.

Still enjoying this and trying to make some good headway before Halo 3 arrives.

At the part where

the flying fortress arrives at Jibral Castle and you have to pull it in

the cutscenes here are absolutely gorgeous, particularly the dark stormy water.

Plus, I had to update when I fired the game up today. Anyone know what that was for?

finished this earlier today.

didnt think much of it at first, but it constantly gets better as it goes along. the areas you visit and the story. i assume it must have been a concious decision, but it does make the opening sections seem quite bland... both when your doing them and in hindsight compared with some of the later bits.

top ending though, cool bosses and little twists.

much better game than i first thought.

This is truly a lovely game, I'm now on the last disc and desperately trying to finish it before Halo 3 arrives. Problem is, I can simply go to what I think is the final location in the game, but I can't bring myself to go there without finishing all side-quests first.

While randomly exploring I also stumbled across two rare monsters, both achievement related. The

golden poo

was just a standard enemy and easily defeated. The second one, however, was

the KING POO

and the bastard defeated me in a single turn before I could even do anything ^_^

I will have my revenge!

Blue Dragon = :(

All the yellow stars have interesting sub-quests and stuff to do, so if you're levelling up, toughening up or farming achievements then you might want to visit them all (order isn't important).

If you're impatient to jump to the end of the game, there's one star in the top left that's a different colour to the rest.

I had the same experience. Went off and did the Sea Cube and a couple of other bits and came back, kicked its arse. The trick for me was getting the ability to cast two spells in the same turn (one of the higher abilities for either Support Magic or White Magic, can't remember which) and Previve - so I could give myself a nice buffer of rebounding characters within the first couple of turns.

I knows it's been said before, but Blue Dragon is the stingiest game for achievements. 42 hours in and only 25 gamerpoints! I got 10 points for selecting an option in Stranglehold... :D

Aye you have to do stupid things to get points on this game.

Is the first disk the longest?

Its taken my 18 hours to finish it. I'm suprised I've stuck at it to be honest.

Does it become more interesting from now on?

Result for me. I nipped out at lunchtime and Grainger Games, indie near me, were doing Blue Dragon for 15 quid new as the deal of the week. I got the last one so can't pick up any more for anyone else. Anyone in the North East should have a look out at the GG stores in the area if they still want this game.

I'm a bit cross that this has taken a back seat for me due to Halo 3, Skate, PGR4, and Crackdown (I'm catching up with that one). Everytime I go to play it, I hesitate and go for the instant fun of the before mentioned.

Must get back to this game :)
