tonight was AWESOME.

'Took the wife out last night, right? One punch.'

Also: Cross HARRICANE!!!111 finally makes Twin Sabers worthwhile, no joke. now I understand why people pay silly prices for Grand Cross. I now want a rainbow of those, or I have to wait for those Twin DB Sabers. sad face :(

Don't I need some sticky tape in between those twin creas first to make them TEH CREA DUBZ, though?

good point, though, I could do with going back to Fighgunner - I'll be BIG PIMPIN with mah crea dubz, mah 2/2 10% Two-Headed Ragnus (OMG S RANK WEPZ!!!11), and the rest of the palette filled with 10/10 Beam Vulcanics.

Until friday, anyway. LOL!!!!1111111111eleven

We got Siri his Kan Yu

Pretty funnily though, I picked up some Teranite or something crap like that just as he blew up the box that had the board in it, I heard him get excited on voice, then see that he recieved the last item and running over to the last 4 boxes to try and see if there was another rare so that he'd get the board.

At least that's how it looked to me. :D

Looks like I owe Marc a full set of Force gear - He asked if I was going to run De Ragan, which I had no plans for, but did anyway.

First run? Kan Yu. rare weapons always, ALWAYS appears when you're not driven for it

Marc got it, but handed it over with much kindness. It's just a case of finding the Catilium again now, but that should be simple enough.

Just need to think of a few gift ideas, now. I've got a couple of things, albeit none are psycho wands ;/

EDIT: I was more concerned about finding something of somewhat equal value once that board dropped that you could have in exchange for it  I did have a Cati/Power, but that's been changed into 6.5mil meseta.

...Unless you want 6.5 million meseta? ;D

EDIT 2: I also have a piece of Gaozoran Rod! no idea on how much they are worth, but it's something as well as the A-Rank force bits and bobs.

Going for Protranser* eventually. I'm nearly Ranger level 2 now, despite being level 14. Good old De Ragan C :P

Although I'm hopefully going to be high enough to start leeching like a pro in B rank expansion stuff soon, nobody bothers with the expansion stuff on C it seems.

*Donk and Richard are my heroes!

Yep, the game is very simple to get into. If you played the single player game at all, the hardest part in learning what stuff does is already taken care of. There aren't that many new people starting off now, but levelling is very quick in the game.

Now a question the other way; how on earth do you cancel a sub? I can't see myself playing this in the next couple of months so I'd be happy to save that £14 or whatever before I get the urge to go back!

It's something on the dashboard, I remember finding it but I can't remember exactly where. Something after you click on your gamertag on the main page though I think.

Excellent, I'm sure I've got some stuff you can have. I'll dig it all out later

Cheers, plus if you lend me stuff then Siri has to continue feeling guilty because you beat him to it and he still feels in debt. :P

I think you might have to ring MS. It's listed on account management and on billing.microsoft.com, but you can't actually cancel on there. They tend not to make these things easy.

Yep, you do have to do it by phone. That's what I did.

Got a question...can you play this online on a UK PS2?

I believe so - you won't be able to play with us as the two servers are seperated - you will be able to play with PC users though.

You'll need a network adapter or slimline PS2, and to pay for the subscription I think you need to use the PlaySEGA link on the right of http://www.phantasystaruniverse.com. It might ask you for a country before you hit the main page.

:P

I havent played the single player further than the first two or three levels, I bought it with the intention to play online but then no one I knew picked it up so it felt a bit lonely trying to find people to play with online.

I take it it's a good idea for me to get on and play through the single player game first then?

what little I did play online I was a bit confused by the room functions and the different classes, it seemed ok at first soloing the first few levels but then it became a chore as I kept getting bummed in the gob and found it hard to get randoms who didnt whore the item drops.

The only issue with the PC/PS2 community is that it is small. Very small. About 600-800 people on at peak times. If you have a 360 then I'd consider going with that version instead simply for the sheer amount of people playing - about four-five times the amount on PC/PS2.

As for the rooms/classes thing, it all becomes clear the more you play. But definitely play the offline first - just to get your head around the combat, the items, so on - everything is dumbed-down a bit offline, but the online game isn't *that* deep - it's just that it chucks almost everything at you right from day one and so it seems quite overwhelming.

[edit] got the two of you confused, so some of this may not apply. Oops

You can pick up PSU for 15-20 quid now easily. But you still need to pay 1200 MS points for the expansion on top of that. Definately worth playing on the 360 version even if just for the voice chat, it makes ALL the difference.

Plus if you start playing with us, you can just ask loads of random questions to us all, that's what I did (and still do ) when playing with these guys.

I'm Marctastic, and yeah, no problem. I'd recommend jumping straight into the online. The single player's nearly enough to put you off the game for life, to be honest.

You can start finding your way about easy enough, and just pester us to help out.

thank goodness you said that I went home and played some at lunch and i had forgotten quite how cringeworthy the voice acting and custscenes are.

I have a HL now, however when trying to connect it gave me a timeout error I only tried a couple of times, can this be a bit quirky? I use open dns for my 360 as I remember having issues with the PSU beta and DNS servers it also caused problems with the cod4 beta so I manually set my dns to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

Try setting your DNS to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2, that did it for me.
