Halo 2 On Xbox 360

when i played this last week i noticed firstly how sharp and bright the menus were (im playing on a normal tv set by the way, along with an rgb cable) and also how fast they were. Really nice that, however the game felt really slow when playing. Sorta like if a frame skip was on, i just felt like i was running loads slower than on the xbox. Hopefully thats been fixed now.

The % loading is not new it just depended on what DVD drive you had in your Xbox.

There has been one update to the initial BC list you download (it's v1.2 now).

i got the %-loading screen when playing Halo 2 on my 3 year old xbox, and no loading screen (and much faster loading) on the new crystal xbox i got last Xmas.

Also, how much faster are the menus? can someone time the menu button presses on their old x box, someone record the menu button response on the 360, so we can actually quantify this.

It would.

Basically they run faster because the full-screen blurring effect behind shit is done really quick on the 360, when the first xbox shat its pants at the prospect.

Well I only assumed that that was the case because when I tried to delete the video from the hard drive so I could start playing quicker instead of just going straight to the main menu it started doing the load screen where the video should have been. Also seemingly explaining why you can't skip it until its finished loading normally...

Yes it's loading while the start video is shown.

On my nephews Xbox the video finishs and you get the % loading screen but on my Xbox you can skip part of the video because it's finished loading.

Ive got Halo 2 running on my 360 on a Samsung HDTV. It looks simply fantastic, no more jaggies, no blur. Amazing. Compared it to my younger brothers original Xbox as it ran and I couldnt believe how different it looked.

Very disappointed myself, the game appears to default to 50hz hence a lot slower than usual. Hopefully they'll be an update to sort this soon.

Unfortunately, if you're running in 720P, there doesn't appear to be an option to do this. Halo 2 just defaults to 720P @ 50hz (whereas all 360 games run at 720P @ 60hz).

Not that I've noticed it running slowly, mind.

Bung the cable in SD mode, change it and switch it back. Done.

yeah mines in 60hz mode on 720p and my halos running normal speed. thought you;d just missed the dash 60hz setting.

Are you sure about that?

Halo 2 runs fine on my TV (except for the download screens) and it doesn't do 720p @ 50Hz. Or, at least, the manual says it doesn't.

Halo2 is one of those games that runs at 720p 60hz. It works on my projector, that's how I know. Halo isn't, however. And I was under the impression that PAL50 and PAL60 had no bearing on the output once you bang it into HD.
