Wrecked - March 28th.

Was just coming on to post this. Not overly keen on the news they are going for quality over quantity when it comes to tracks:

I'll be getting this of course, but it'll have to be quite spectacular to beat Little Racers Street in the value for money stakes.

What could possibly be bad about that? I'd rather have a small number of tight, carefully-considered and well designed tracks, than fifty so-so tracks that you'll never learn anyway.

A small number is one thing, but six is really small. Six starts to look like you're not really getting value for money and I just don't see the game lasting very long. Online will be dead right away because there are so few tracks that people will tire of them in hours, no matter how fun it is.

Six? Six!? When I read the couple of posts above I thought, well, 8 isn't many but it wouldn't be too bad. But six? Plus it looks like one of them is a triangle and the other a rectangle, hopefully the actual content is a bit more interesting than the outline suggests.

Yep. This is exactly what i meant. It's not as though they've not had much time to spend developing a decent number of good quality tracks either. It looks like at least two of the tracks have been recycled from Mashed as well. I'd have been happy if they'd just thrown in the majority of the old Mashed circuits and then added a few new ones to keep it fresh. I'm just feeling a bit let down as it was so high on my list of must have games, but the mega delay followed by the lack of new content is leaving me feeling under whelmed at the moment. I really hope the finished product proves me wrong.

Weekend Cheeve Challenge

You need to own at least two of these: Ms Splosion Man, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet or Iron Brigade.

Earn a few achievements by Monday, and you can win two XBLA games!

Can't view that link properly on mobile... how does this work if you already have some of those achievements listed? Do they still count?

Yep. I already have 5 achievements across those games so I don't even need to do anything except e-mail them.

Have I missed something? I just heard in this video

that MS Points are going (apparently confirmed by MS) and they'll be going to actual currency instead. Does that mean crazy overpricing like on PSN then?

I don't think that has been confirmed yet, but yeah, everything'll get a bit more expensive if it is. Seems likely.

Was looking forward to Wrecked, and then I played Motorstorm RC. Now that is how you do value for money!!

Pfft, Little Racers STREET.

My question is how they will handle the switchover, like what happens to points already in your account and whether it will be worth stocking up with cheap points beforehand.

On the plus side, we can stop talking about fucking "points".

I got those 2 games as well. Been waiting for a sale on Half Minute Hero so that works out rather nicely. Never played Poker in my life, I'll download the trial and see if this is a good chance to learn or not.

I got Toy Soldiers:Cold War the other week. It's pretty generous really, considering that I had to do very little for 3 free XBLA games. In about 2 weeks I've gotten more free stuff than I've got in about 18 months from XBL Rewards

They're really worth a follow on twitter. As well as the weekend things they do a caption competition every day too, I won the new Alan Wake XBLA game from that a few days ago.

In other news, there's an update for Quarrel that fixes the online word filter, for those interested.

Nothing special this week (Bioshock 2 content AGAIN  ) but Joe Danger is on-sale next for just 600 MS points :)

There's also a THQ sale on this week as well - Not too sure what's stuff is discounted but I'll have a look and report anything I see!
