£6.80 actually :coffee:

They could've let you race more than 1 lap and not dumped you to a screen where the only option is to buy the game forcing you to quit out using the dashboard. The whole thing felt a bit tacky.

Well exactly. Even letting you complete one more race would have been better. What do they think, that people are going to just stick with playing the demo over and over if they give away more than 30 seconds?

Excactly. As I said yesterday, they fucked this one up. I didn't expect this of Sumo.

By looking on youtube the camera is the same on the arcade version. It just feels like your pivoting rather than drifiting round corners when using behind cam. As for using in car cam? No chance on a rally game, always out car view for me.

I'm sure I had more than one go without quitting out, it goes back to the menu after a bit. A bit too long.

Just done the same, how anyone thinks that is an acceptable out of car camera in this day and age is ridiculous. It is literally the laziest option available - camera posrot = car posrot + some offset, instead of adding in some spring effects so that it moves towards the desired position rather than snapping to it.

I can't believe Sumo Digital were responsible for this.

Sega Rally revo is actually better - gutted. Same frame rate, but more tracks and better out of car view for Revo.

( i really liked revo, just wished it was 60fps like Rally 3 arcade)

Maybe it's a while since I properly sat down with the Saturn version, but this feels to me like a simple res-up job and I'm saying that's a good thing. It feels the same to me, the 30fps is a non-issue on a racer like this - it's constant and smooth. Basically it's what I wanted, and I always drive from bumper cam so I have no problems with the viewpoints.

Oh, I assumed it was one 3-lap race!

I just went and bought it after seeing the one track available in the trial. That is pretty bad :/

I think your opinion on this may well come down to what type of view you normally use. No matter what the driving game I always use outside view, I just feel that without some kind of VR headset you don't get enough information about your positioning etc. from an in car view as you would in real life. Plus the slight delay on the camera moving directly behind your car again helps to judge how hard you are turning and follows how you are likely to focus on one object while turning in a real car. So if I'm forced to used a camera that sticks directly with a car's rotation no matter what view I'd probably find it nigh on unplayable - oh snap, now I understand what inverted camera people feel like :(

Yep, this external view just doesn't work for me at all. On the positive side, it's giving me the incentive to open up the Revo box and pop the disc back in to play it how it should be played :)

This is probably what I'll end up doing. Or the even better PSP version.

Not tried this one, but the previous Sega Rally on 360 was really hard to play from external view too, but I think for the opposite reason. I seem to recall it was really drifty and floaty and it made it tough to figure out what the car was doing. Anyway bonnet cam was loads better and seemed the only way to play it to me.

My god the demo for SR is rubbish ins't it? The full game may be better but the demo is dire. I remember revo being fun and challenging. This just seems worse. I don't understand.

It's a game you've already played to death years ago. Hand your money over already.

OH MY GOD THAT LOOKED LIKE POLAR WHARF. Instabuy.

:omg:

It was the only track we used to play at uni, there were about 5 of us that were immense at it, any newcomers didn't stand a chance. This will be an instant buy, now just to find 3 friends to come around and play it for hours on end.....

Anybody looking to buy Wrecked might as well add my Gamertag now, I'll be up for any games, hopefully we can get a rllmuk league going for it.

You just need to get reacclimatised to the handling. Theres really nothing wrong with it at all, its just different to other games out there.

Once you get a grip on what the game requires out of you it feels fine.

As for having played it before...its a different game. Different tracks made from some of the pieces of the retail game.
