Technically it's not an XBLA game, but I highly recommend Sequence on the Xbox Live Indie Games channel. It's apparently sold less than 1000 copies since release, which is a crying shame since it's got the quality of an XBLA title behind it, even if it does have a slightly home grown look to it.

Download the trial at least, I'm sure a lot of folks here would enjoy it - for £2 odd, it's a genuine bargain.

As for Gatling Gears - I liked the look of it, but the demo didn't sell me on it.

It's definitely one for the sales. The bad outweighs the good by a pretty big margin based on the trial.

Did you complete the trial?

It definitely takes some getting used to, but I really don't get the hostility towards it.

I think 95% of my XBLA purchases have been sale only, World of Keflings was the last game I purchased outside of a sale when released.

I didn't. I accept it might be one of those games that needs more than a trial to be fully appreciated (there certainly have been more than a few recently), which is why I haven't deleted the trial in the hopes of it appearing in a sale soon but there's no way I'd drop full price for it based on the trial.

Same here, although I am still buying a few on release day, I have become considerably more picky and have started to wait for titles I'd otherwise buy on day one to go on sale.

DR: Case WEST and Raskulls being the most recent examples.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Gatling Gears. Sure, it's repetitve and doesn't do anything remotely new or innovative, but it's really fun and satisfying to play. The weapons are especially awesome! Plus it's so perty!

Eurogamer slated it. Pfft! What do they know? :coffee:

I've been playing sonic adventure (shit game i know i just like the nostlfgia lol) and whenever i complete a game with a character it seems to just start the game again without saving, meaning i cant get through to the super sonic bit at the end, is there a way to save at the end? cause otherwise I cant complete the game, bit of a pisstake when ive payed £8 or wotever for it :/

The trial is actually quite long (as trials go).

Like I said, I haven't bought it yet myself, but thats more a function of having too many other games I haven't played on XBLA than anything else.

I could understand the reluctance to get it full price if it was 1200, but at 800 MS Points it looks like pretty good value already to me.

I'd definitely recommend going back and finishing off the trial at least.

Well it's good that they waited until after 9 came out before releasing the MK collection as playing those games would probably have soured a lot of people on the idea of buying the new (good) one.

UMK3 was the best fighting game for 16 bit consoles. Fact.

Yeah, I really didn't like Braid. Found it to be dull and ugly...I know you aren't really allowed to say that, but there it is.

Winterbottom on the other hand is brilliant, really fun and just the right amount of challenging with a great (not up its own arse) story and tonnes of charm. Also has absolutely the best XBLA trial of any game ever.

A game based on Saber Rider? Weird choice, that.

Is it just me or do all the games that Sarge (gawd bless 'im) linked to look well mediocre? Ms. Splosion Man looks alright but there's really not much I'm hyped for at the moment.
